Rarest Xbox Sold at Retail

There comes a time when you have to decide if you're going to be a collector first and foremost, or a gamer. At one point, i considered collecting all of the Xboxes released worldwide. Almost all of them are obtainable if you're willing to throw money at it. All except for one...

I'm still trying to decide if i should put this thing on display or not... even i'm not that hardcore.

ive seen this thing a while back. had the chance to buy one for 1000$ a few years ago, just didnt care to.

its definately a great collection piece if you are an avid xbox collector and want/have every one released worldwide.

display it? nah. maybe if the panzer dragoon white xbox was as rare as this, then that be worth displaying.

my xbox is the canadian crystal release. does the job. but my favorite is definately the panzer white one. i do have a soft spot for the HALO xbox's too.

I've been hunting for one for 3-4 years now, i grabbed it off of ebay (thanks Nicola and GameSniped.com)

I'd rather not divulge the price, but it was somewhere between $799 and $801.

Somewhere between $799 to $801 doesn't sound too terribly unreasonable for something you've been looking for for that long and that's that rare. It's still out of my price range by somewhere between $299 to $301, sadly.

I want to get this for Achi but the price is pretty prohibitive. One on eBay ended with a starting of $700, tried talking down to $500 but no dice.

Not counting prototypes or weird paint jobs, it's either the blue taco bell xbox given away as a contest prize near the xbox launch Or it could be the puke green xbox given away in the UK as a prize when the movie "Hulk" came out (it's the same color as the Mt. Dew box). Both are probably limited to about 28 pieces each (no official numbers are known, but it's assumed to be less then 50 and they put 28 consoles to a skid when they ship from the factory).
