I love the VGUL threads here on the boards. Is there a place online where a bunch are collected?

If there isn't I'm sure someone will see this thread and start to make one.

It's just a discussion thread on Snopes, but it seems like a pretty good place to start.
(/reads a little further) Then again...maybe not.
Sigh...one of the problems with this subject is that the distinctions between "urban legend", "easter egg" and "cheat code" become easily blurred. For example, Custer's Revenge is considered an urban legend by people under a certain age group, but for older gamers/collectors this game's existence is a confirmed fact. Things like Polybius (false) or the Alamogordo landfill (true) easily fit into the urban legends category, but does Warren Robinett's name in Adventure belong there, too? Where should one draw the lines?

To me, an urban legend is something that is widely believed among a group of people, no matter how small or large, but is later proven false. ex
For example, the negative world in SMB is not an urban legend, because it exists.
The nude Lara Croft code for Tomb Raider is an urban legend because it does not exist, but was believed to exist by many people.

I was talking about the console version. I'm sure you heard stored about pressing a series of buttons to get it (hold down R1, press left 3 times, hit X, or something like that).

I guess this is as good a place as any to post the discussions we've had here.
Crazy Game or Consoles Rumors Past (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18790)
Donkey Kong Urban Legends (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81974&highlight=urban+legends)
Video Game Urban Legends (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27767)
More Video Game Urban Legends (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107542)
It would be great if someone *cough cough* ;) could merge all these threads together for a big Video Game Urban Legends thread to put in Classic Discussions.
