Hey everyone

I've always been fascinated with the Sega VR which was never released. I know that one prototype was developed with possibly a game or 2. Google yields the same old info that I already know. Does anyone know what happened to the proto? Any new or unique info you might have about the proto that google doesn't have? I would love to see a video of the proto running if a video even exists (fingers crossed)....

I have two of the games that were coming out for it, and Nicola has one.

Do you have pics? Are you talking about the actual cart or a rom?

I own the actual cart. I've got tons of Sega Genesis/Mega Drive protos...but I don't have access to a lot of these games readily to take pics. Looks like any other Genesis long board prototype or small board prototype...

How in the world did you get your hands on that?!? I have yet to find any protos. I live in Florida which sucks for collecting.

I actually started collecting when I lived in Miami. I have very good contacts, but I can say Miami had a lot of stuff =) not proto, though =P

I actually live very close to Miami. Maybe you can share a few good locations to search :)

I have not lived there since 1996. It's a shadow of what it used to be.

These places I used to go to are gone:

New Focus
Die Hard Game Club
Microplay/Megaplay
Tropicana Flea Market
Swap Shop in Ft Lauderdale (the one guy that had everything disappeared and the Asian family inside left years ago)

Heck, even when I come back to visit, this place called The Xchange near FIU South shut down too.

It sucks that most places shut down. I visit the swap shop like every week. There tends to be a few finds every once in a while but no protos.

Well, I can't say I never found protos in Miami. One of my biggest finds was cleaning out Rare's old storage facility at an arcade. Tons of NES, SNES chips and boards.

DreamTR has certainly found his fair shair of protos.

But if you have the interest, good contacts, and money to spend, more often than not people with prototypes will find you. ;)
