I just finished playing Juno First on MAME and was wondering if this game was ever released on a home console or 8-bit computer? I can't help think what a great shoot'em up it is, especially with the dipswitch settings at max difficulty. Was there ever a sequel or any "clones" of this game released in the home or arcade?

There's a C64 version which I never thought much of. You'd think it would have been on one of Konami's collections but I don't think it has.

I love Juno First.

It's like Defender meets Galaxian. And it's not impossible, like Defender and Galaxian. :)

I first saw this game at CGE a few years ago and liked it immediately. I've always sucked at Defender but can do reasonably well on Juno First owing to the simpler control scheme and the vertical orientation (to which I'm more accustomed). Good game. Definitely something of an underrated classic.

{Edited, per roushimsx's pointing out an incorrect descriptive term on my part}

Definitely something of a sleeper hit.

It's nothing like a sleeper hit. A sleeper hit comes out with little fanfare and slowly builds up to being a big "hit". Juno First is more along the lines of an "hidden gem", an "underrated classic" or similar.

Perhaps if more and more people took notice of it then it could slowly become a sleeper hit, only taking 25 years to do so. :)

Man I completely forgot about this game! My cousin use to have this game in his pizza shop back when I was a kid. Thanks for bringing back the memories:cheers:

There's a homebrew version available for the Neo geo Pocket Color.

Obscure enough?

Wooo another shooter on the Pocket. Quality.

Still awaiting a USB NGPC flash cart so I can play all this homebrew on real hardware.

A favorite of mine back in my arcade as a child.

This must mean I was an odd child, as I was playing Juno First and Discs of Tron a lot while everyone else was playing Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and the other classics.
