I didn't see this posted anywhere else (maybe I didn't look hard enough, if there's another thread for it, mods please delete this), but the C64/Amiga game Great Giana Sisters is getting a sequel, due out Q1 2008 for the Dreamcast, Win32 and GP2x.

How far back did you look? Because this project has been underway for at least five years now.
There was actually complete release about three or four years ago on the Dreamcast and GP32. It was considered a beta release, but it was very much complete and was only a few bugfixes away from being a final, but apparently there was some disagreements or infighting among the development team or something like that and the source code was ultimately lost. So the project had to restart from scratch with a mostly new development team and a more ambitious concept from what I can tell, too.
I hope this new version is really as close as they make it sound because I'd love to try it out. My Dreamcast needs a new game and I've been loving nothing but 2D Mario platformers for months now.
You should track down a copy of their original release. It's pretty good in its own right, though there's one or two bugs that I think keep it from being really great (much like the original Giana Sisters, in fact).
