Not much at the thrifts yesterday, but I only hit 2:
Choplifter (Master System, cart & case) - $3
Monopoly (Master System, cart & case) - $3
Quake II (PC, disc w/ insert in jewel case) - $1
I think I'm going after a Master System Model 2 or at least a Power Base Converter at some point in 2008...
I convinced my girlfriend to go with me to Circuit City sale yesterday and I she bought these for me for Christmas:
Driver: Parallel Lines (Wii) - $16.96
Lord of the Rings (360) - $16.96
Monster Madness (360) (X2) - $7.99
Driver and Lord of the Rings were 2 for $30 yesterday, and the Monster Madness was on sale for $8 until yesterday. One of the Monster Madness games is up for trade (and yeah, I told my GF that's what I was planning to do with the extra copy)...

How's the arcade stick?
I'm out of town for work and happened to call the local Gamestop to see if they had one. It was the only one they ever got and it has in the stockroom.
I acutally sent my wife out to find it for Christmas so I think I'll wrap it and give it to myself and act surpised.

Yesterday's finds:
In the mail:
NeoGeo Battle Colosseum from Amazon - $15
At a clearance store downtown:
First party PS1/2/3 S-Video cable - $5 + taxes

$5.00 each from the local indie shop, doubled his prices for the holidays. Then again it looks like he's breeding exotic birds in the back, not surprising since years ago selling illegal cable boxes was the bread and butter of his operation. Anyway...

NES - Adventure Island
NES - Barker Bill's Trick Shooting
NES - Crystalis
I was there looking for a copy of Zoda's Revenge for my brother, saw a zillion of them at the flea market until I actually wanted one. That's what I get for selling him a copy of StarTropics and he realizing what a great game it is (my favorite NES game). No Zoda's Revenge, as can be seen, but I did grab Barker Bill's Trick Shooting and Crystalis for him. He sounded interested in a copy of Crystalis that I sold awhile back after I explained the game to him (it had already sold) and Barker Bill's Trick Shooting is basically the middle ground between Duck Hunt and the Wii Play shooting game. Good NES games for Christmas.
Adventure Island is for me, wasn't there for myself but it looks like it JUST came out of the box. Of course the morons there had to write their little symbol on the back of every cartridge with a sharpie - which gets onto the labels since they toss the games all in a bag before it dries. Easy enough to get off though and I didn't feel like arguing. There were a couple other games there that I passed on because $5.00 is a bit much for loose NES games these days ($2.00 is what I'm used to or at least 3 for $10.00) such as Spy Vs. Spy. He also had a Bentley Compuvision under about three inches of dust - wanted $50.00 for it. LOL

I guess this would be my find of the month easily. I always hit the Half Price Books near a trio of games stores including two Gamestops and a Play-N-Trade on my hunt days. They typically have a few old Xbox and PS2 games. Today they had these for $6.99 each! The Nocturne's each had the bonus CD soundtrack disc. There were a few other Atlus games that I already had that I'm really gonna wish I had grabbed but I had spent a bundle already on an old Arkham House Lovecraft book so I had to be choosy. When I got to the desk the lady checking me out said that a fella had brought a bunch of PS2 games in yesterday, so I assume someone traded in their collection of Atlus RPG's. My gain.

I had my annual gift exchange with some friends yesterday. Here's the games I got:
NES:
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (cart only)*
Super NES:
The Addams Family (cart only)
Demolition Man (cart only)
Race Drivin' (cart only)**
Dreamcast:
GTA 2 (complete)
* - This was a gag gift from a collector friend who had multiple SMB/DH carts. This is my second SMB/DH cart, and it's the label variant I didn't have.
**These put me at over 180 SNES games - 181, to be exact. :)

I had God of War that a friend of mine gave me. I really didn't like it not my style. The Trade in was $6 so I wanted a cheap Madden game for xbox for $2 and I got Starsky and Hutch for PS2 for $2.50 or so. I really enjoy the random games.

I went out on Monday morning to finish up my Christmas shopping and found more things for myself.
Circuit City
Just Cause (PS2) - $9.99 (was marked at $10 but rang up for $39.99 originally)
Gamestop
Mobile Light Force 2 (aka the butchered version of Castle Shikigami, PS2, complete) - $3.69
Orphen (PS2, complete) - $3.69
Sears
Cold Fear (PS2) - $6.97
Elite Beat Agents (DS) - $5.97
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence - $13.97
Tourist Trophy (PS2, GH) - $3.97
Wal-Mart
Command & Conquer (360) - $19.99
Grim Grimoire (PS2) - $19.99
I really lucked out at Wal-Mart since I've been putting off buying both of those games, and they were the last copies of each game. Also, that Tourist Trophy is a pretty sweet buy.
Oh, I got my stepdad a copy of Brute Force (XB, PH) for $4.99 at Best Buy, which he'll enjoy since my mom won't let him buy a 360...

I bought Exodus and Bible Adventures today, loose, for $4 - and a Sega Genesis 1 AC Adapter for $4.50 ($50 Mexican Pesos). I haven't been able to find one for TWO MONTHS so I had to buy it.
At least now I know my Genesis/SCD combo system turns on... now I need an A/V cable for the thing...

Decided to make a trip to Milwaukee couple of weekends ago, last minute decision, had to pick up some old Commodore 64 & Apple II stuff anyway, so I figured I'd hit the thrifts while I was there. All of them were busts except for the last one I went to (go figure.)
Game Cube games-
Namco Museum disc only (49 cents)
Worms Blast disc only (49 cents)
City Racer disc only (49 cents)
Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition disc only (49 cents)
Tarzan Untamed (99 cents)
Tak & the Power of JuJu (99 cents)
Super Monkey Ball (99 cents)
Super Monkey Ball 2 (99 cents)
Crash Nitro Kart (99 cents)
Genesis games (both complete)-
Columns III $1.99
General Chaos $1.99
NES games (loose carts only)-
Dragon Warrior II $1.99
Super C $1.99
Those finds definitely made the trip worthwhile, even with the snowy drive home :)

Passed up on some cool SNES games I don't have but they were loose carts, showing a change in times. Haha. Yeah, I'm wanting CIB instead of the hundreds of loose carts I own so only certain games are musts-buys loose. Someone else can enjoy those great games.
But anyhow, what I did grab today at the pawn was:
Sega CD:
BC Racers (C - $3)
And 3 music CDs at $1 each. Well, it was "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" but I left my wallet at home so I offered a friend $6 to cover my $5.24 costs. He's cool so I even drove him to IHOP earlier tonight.
From purenergy I got in the mail:
Sega Master System:
Bomber Raid (missing manual)
Looks great, was actually looking at some SMS games at a game store earlier today but ended up passing as I know this was on its way. Now I just need to plug the system in!
And finally, went to Best Buy to pick up another copy of Battlefield 1984 Collection because it's $10 and an awesome game collection. So now I have a copy for the lappy and desktop. :D
I actually bought a few copies for friends as Christmas gifts so we have a good FPS to play that others computers can run well and over the network.

I got these from GameStop's B2G1 sale:
Game Boy:
Final Fantasy Legend III (cart only) - $7.99
PS2:
Sly 2: Band of Thieves (complete, non-GH) - $9.99
GBA:
Marble Madness/Klax (cart only) - free (originally $4.99)
FF Legend III was a nice find, and it's nice to get Sly 2 off the want list. However, I wish I had read up on Marble Madness/Klax before I bought it. Klax is fine, but the Marble Madness port only has the first three levels! WTF? I'm gonna take that back and exchange it for something else.

I've picked up quite a bit of games lately so here goes my list off the top of my head
Snes w/ 3 games - $10 (sold for $35, gotta love xmas)
Castlevania SOTN (complete) - $5
Conker (Xbox, no manual) - $8
Mario Power Tennis (gc, no manual) - $8 (sold for $40, gotta love xmas)
Metal Mech (nes) - $4
Slalom (nes) - $4
Thunderbirds (nes) - $4
Venice Beach Volleyball (nes) - $4
Super Soccer (snes) - $3
Skins golf (snes, complete) - $4
Super Off Road baja (snes, complete) - $4
Adventures of Batman and Robin (genesis, no manual) - $5
X-perts (genesis, complete) - $5
Shadow Dancer (genesis, complete) - $5
Shadow Blasters (genesis, complete) - $5
Rock N Roll Racing (genesis, no manual) - $1
Zombies Ate My Neighbors (genesis, complete) - $1
Super Monaco GP 2 (genesis) - $3
Forsaken 64 - $4
Harvest Moon 64 - $9
Total paid $92, total paid after selling a couple of the items for $75 before shipping $17, so overall I think I overpaid for a couple of the genesis, nes, and snes games but this was after factoring in what I made off of the things I sold.

Found a copy of The Guy Game (XBOX) at Blockbuster, on a big table for $4.99. Of course it was a rental copy, it's not in the original case, and missing the fucking manual. It's just a dumb trivia game that needs to be either more tasteless or just have more boobs. That said I'll probably be playing it again.

I like Yahtzee...remember it from the DP arcade? I consider this cart worth the price for that alone as I'm not that familiar with the others. I got this at Rite-Aid...it's normal price there is $12.99 but they had $3.00 off sale price stickers up. They sold out to some guy who is now going to use the land for real estate development. There was one new guy there outside and his kid had an original xbox with 2 controllers and the dvd kit for 15, then he had about 10 games for 10. he also had the travel screen for 10 in the box but i passed on that. the games are decent. Ones i wanted anyways. halo 2. graw, san andreas, i have for ps2 wanted for xbox, the 3 burger king games, for ps2 1 game, wwf smackdown vs raw 2007, thena few more xbox games. Pretty sweet deal!

Pretty nice finds at a thrift today! All complete except for Alundra and FFtactics, which are missing manuals, and FFVII discs are mint (doubt 2 & 3 have been out of the case). Paid between 1.80 and 6.80 for the games. Anyone know anything about the SMB3 VHS? I picked it up mostly just in case someone here wants it. Up for sale/trade anyway.
Oh, and the mushroom was an early xmas gift that I just threw in the pic. It contains 'cherry sours' that aren't very good. I think it came from Urban Outfitters or someplace like that.

Daxter pack - I went to every store in town and PSPs were out of stock EVERYWHERE. I knew this one was hot this season, but even the unloved Star Wars packs were sold out. I had almost given up hope and then I spotted three in the bottom of the showcase at Sears. Score!
Castlevania - $29.99 Had to have this one for the new system!
Spider-Man 1, 2, & Big Daddy - $6.99 each @ Circuit City
Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray $19.99 @ Circuit City (price match from Best Buy's ad)
Okami- I had given up on finding one of these new at a good price. Found this last copy at Circuit City for $16.96. Not as good as the guy here who got three for $5 each, but I was happy.

They were $2 each and weren't in my SNES stack yet so I picked them up. Now if only I could find some more boxed Nintendo games like last month.

I guess I need to post now since 2007 is almost over, my finds from the week:
Mass Effect(bday pressy from the wife)
Halo 3 and Orange Box(BBV buy 1 get 1 half off)
Timeshift and Star Wars TCS(Rogers 2 for 30)
Xbox Live points
Kitsune Sniper

My finds from the past two weeks:
A second Genesis 1 power supply, now I know my Genesis debug thing works fine, for the most part;
Super Smash Bros. Melee (trade with shaggy here at DP;)
A Master System RCA composite cable to test out my Genesis debug thing (it works!) from Cornelius (I still owe him a game).
And... from bwild22...
A near mint Symphony of the Night disk + manual set. Non GH. I already have the back insert for this. Pretty sure this is my best purchase of the year.
Yeah.

Just about the end of December, and I don't have all of it at the house just yet, but figured I'd post about it anyway.
This is a find which has been over a year in the making. A friend told me about a neighbor of his, who had an old Atari Star Wars arcade machine in their basement. It didn't work, and was in rough shape, but I figured I'd look into getting parts for it. A year later, after not a whole lot of luck (or time), my friend contacted me, telling me that they were now looking to get rid of it, for free! Being one of my favorite arcade games of all time, I jumped at the chance. I was able to get part of it home in my car (one of it's previous owners apparently cut it in two in order to make it easier to move), and the rest is waiting for an opportunity to get a truck or similar vehicle through the snow to the basement where it resides now.
BEHOLD!

My last acquisitions of 2007:
NES:
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (cart only)
Top Gun (cart only)
Got those for free last night from a collector friend who had multiple copies of both games. This puts me at three SMB/Duck Hunt carts. Didn't have Top Gun, though (the last copy I owned of that was traded off).

Got this YESTERDAY:
PS3 40GB
PS3/PS2/PSOne Memory Card Adapter
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Blu-Ray Remote
All that at Best Buy...
Then I went to OSH to go get an HDMI cable. They had ones for Philips ones for 50 bucks. They were 100 at Best Buy. Damn I did good. :D
I also ordered Time Crisis 4 w/ Guncon 3 off Amazon at the sale price of 50 dollars.
TC4 was the only real "find", I guess, besides the HDMI cable. :P

Any reason why you bought the Memory Card Adapter with the 40GB PS3? Do you have another PS3 you plan to use it with?

The memory card adapter is to transfer your saves from the PS2 memory card and PS1 memory card to the PS3 and vice versa (firmware 2.0 and up).

I thought that the 40GB model had no backward compatibility.

They all have PS1 backward compatibility. It is the PS2 comp. that varies. At least that's what I thought...

Okay, my bad. I did not know that it had limited PS1 capability. Thanks for the info.
I like how they mention that SOME MAY play, but then they don't allow you to search for 40 GB compatibility on the web site.

$50 for an HDMI cable is hardly a find though... unless I'm missing something.
It's not related to game stuff, but I won this jacket on ebay and was pretty excited. Spent 5 days watching and got it for 1/2 of my max bid :)
