Hi

I was cleaning some nes games today and when I opened one up, it had three identical stickers with bar codes. None of my other nes games have them and I have like 200+ games. I have a duplicate of the same game and it didn't have them either. Both games are rev A. Im just curious what they were used for. here is a pic:

I think it is a security device, as I have opened numerous NES/SNES games and found them, stuck to the cart, and also loose, rattling inside the cart (Always formal rentals).

cool. I was wondering what they were.

I've opened hundreds of games and never saw any such thing. I'm surprised they are in NES gmaes, though, since they are a pain in the ass to get open, even with the security bit.

I've seen tons of those in NES games, at least a couple hundred. by time they got to SNES and N64 most rental places just put them on the outside of the cart because it was easier than opening the game and putting the stickers on.

Yup, security stickers as has been said and I've seen a few myself - usually down by the connectors. What I hate most is when a rental place would have filled the screw holes with hot glue to prevent board swapping. Can be a pain in the ass to get the glue slugs out sometimes.
