As Joe so cleverly dubbed it - the "homebrew" commercial which "aired" between rounds of the Simulated Starcade Tournament is now up on my YouTube for everybody to enjoy.

Joe can also put it on the DP YouTube page if he'd like.

While there may be some "confusion" over the genesis of this commercial ... there may be some that think that I "created" it, on the contrary - I actually FOUND it on an old VHS of Saturday Morning Cartoons and episodes of Starcade from the early 80's that I had sitting around.

It's a shame the game never got produced. Perhaps there's a prototype out there somewhere!

Somebody needs to update the Online Rarity Guide!

Seriously!

-COUGH COUGH- (nudge, wink)

Here's the link if you were fortunate enough to see it at the actual meeting - now you have the power to pause it and look for secret DP in-jokes!

ENJOY!!!

I finally got to watch this FOR REAL, without any distractions, just a few minutes ago. I laughed out loud. Really! It's got that cheesy 80's style down pat and I can tell was very deliberately scripted. Moments within the brief moment:

- A dart actually falls out of the dartboard in the background. No way you planned that... ?
- I spotted your girlfriend in the frenzied "we're all playing" segment. Even funnier that her controller isn't plugged in.
- The boom lowering on the main guy (your) head... predictable but still funny!
- The trivia questions that pop up... "solve for N", I got a chuckle there.
- The "Dragon's Lair expansion" is hilarious, a nice final touch and homage to the "keep adding big parts" experience of the 80's.

I may be missing some of the "in jokes" so pass 'em on. Once again, great job, brother.

I actually tried to solve the physics problem that popped up for a second...then remembered how much I hate physics.

Glad you finally got a chance to enjoy it distraction free.

Christ...I can't tell you how many setups and takes that dart falling took.

And, don't tell me you missed the "It Calm The Beef Min" gag!

I didn't see it the first time either, but it's in the "Tetherball" game screen, a plane in the background is flying with a sign in the background.

Nice.
