I've been meaning to buy a 3DO for several years (Since 2002 to be exact), and now I've decided I'm going to buy one within the next few weeks. I just have a few questions about it.

Does it support S-Video?

In regards the game packaging, I keep seeing mentions of large cases. Now, they don't bother me at all (Mega CD, Saturn, PSX), however, or are they just easily destroyed cardboard (Super Famicom), or are they like Mega CD, PSX, etc.?

Is the 32k save space really enough? I just have a bad feeling that it will fill up with only a couple saves. I think I remember reading there was a memory module ala Mega CD and Saturn available. How rare/sought after is that?

Oh and, as a completist, how rare really is the VCD add-on? I'm sure it commands triple digit prices, but I'll track it down eventually. Does it have region protection like the Saturn one?

yes it supports s-video (the fz-1 does I know for a fact).

Most of the large boxes were cardboard.. some were very hard sturdy book opening type boxes (way of the warrior, quarantine etc.)

I never ran out of memory. Eva. Not saying you won't, but it's never happened to me in all my 3do days.

Not sure the exact rarity, but the svcd addon is pretty hard to find, and fetches usually around 80+ on ebay (last time I checked).

Agreed on all counts. I've had my 3DO for 10 years and I think I've only cleared out some saves once or twice. IMO the add on memory expansion isn't worth it.
