Classic or Arcade? Hmmm, considering it's a NES game....

Nice looking original construction ... or, perhaps it might be if the creator would just show us some STILL SHOTS of it.

Note to cabinet creator - yes, we know you can pan across sections of your cabinet and then edit the clips together in Windows Movie Maker ...

... but how about some nice, static pictures of your cabinet from all angles?

See ... in the hectic cinematography, I did not at all notice that the trackball was one of those "item holding statue things" ... that's really nice art design right there!

Overall it's a sweet game themed cabinet (even if it's not an arcade game)...but you'd hardly know WHY visually from that video.

I wonder if he's got actual NES / SNES hardware in there ... since as good as some PC emulators are ... none really do those games 100% justice like the original hardware.

Nah, it's a PC in there. I really like the design, I think he's done an excellent job. The transparent panels on the side with the Mother Brain showing really give the cabinet character. The CP is done really well too: the artwork is excellent and the bubble ball/illuminated buttons/trackball fit in well.

what function does the trackball serve in metroid or is that just there for other games?

Hah, now that's a diehard fan. That's seriously some ridiculously cool design he's got going on there.

I've gotta say that CP art is pretty sweet... Good idea using it like he did

Pretty bad-assed. It looks exactly like it should be a dedicated Nintendo cab.

But I would've chosen Super Metroid, personally. :)

I'm a sucker for anything illuminated behind plexiglass. Awesome.

Everytime I see a custom arcade cabinet it makes me wish I was talented enough to build one myself. *sigh*

I'm pretty sure this would just be a metroid themed mame cab. The trackball would either be for trackball games or for scrolling through the game choices in a menu. Either that or he didn't use a menu(mamewah...etc) and the trackball is to navigate windows.:|

All in all though this is a really nice cab...much better than what I'm planning...although it does give me some ideas.

That is pretty damn sweet. If only dudes skills with the camera were as good. Thanks bazariah for the pics.

I do like how the cab had spots to hook up NES, SNES, N64 and usb controllers.
