Which Final Fantasy is better for GBA, IV, V, or VI? I saw them on clearance at Target for $15 and wanted to get one, but it didn't know which was the best.

Most people will either say 4 or 6. I like 6 the most out of the entire FF series so I'd recommend that one if you can only pick up one. I actually haven't played through 5 yet but I purchased it recently.

In 6 I've actually gotten through every other portion of the game except for that big bonus dungeon that's hidden near the Colosseum. I got most of the way through it last time I played a few months back but started playing Wii games so I haven't played it since.

In part 4 I haven't gotten very far in it so I don't know much about the bonus stuff. I've gotten to the underground world where I've met the dwarfs. This is probably my second favorite Final Fantasy game ever btw.

O rly? For that price I'd like to pay someone to buy FFVI and ship it to Canada.

Did you play any of them for the SNES or Playstation? I have been told that the FFVI translation for this version was rather inferior to the SNES script.

The wording is different and Celes doesn't get punched when she's a prisoner during the Locke quest. It seemed to be a little darker than the SNES version otherwise.

Get all of them.

I second Snapple. $15 is pretty cheap considering (a) it's Final Fantasy and (b) they're brand new GBA games since brand new GBA games are drying up at retail as we speak.

let me just say this i played and loved both final fantasy 2 and 3 (4 and 6 by the real scheme) ff4 adv is a pretty good recreation they renamed a few things included somethings that were taken out of the original localized version and added some content over all it was a great buy. on the other hand ff6 reworked 95% of the characters lines, in the process they managed to destroy any shred of character the characters might have had. still though theres no denying that ff6 is a great rpg even with the dialog butchered.

If you like FF Tactics, FFV is supposed to be its predecessor due to the innovative character job system.

1Up just did a great retrospective on all the Final Fantasy games, including all the ports to the GBA.

Hey Jorpho, my local Zellers has FF IV & V for $19.99. I didn't see VI, but another Zellers might have it for $19.99 as well.

Thanks, but I already have IV and V. (In fact, I think I got IV brand new for $20 at EBGames several months ago.) VI seems to be quite uncommon, and on the rare occasion that I see it, it certainly isn't $15.

So, seriously, would someone be interested in shipping me one of these? I'll pay, of course. ;)

I preferred 4 to 6 myself. Probably due to the fact that 4 was my first Final Fantasy it has a special place in my heart. Also, I greatly prefer FF games that focus on medieval type fantasies vs. technology gone wrong story lines.

spoilers ahoy!

4 is one of my most favroate games of all times, however the gba port is rather buggy especially in the combat, its laggy and theres a few menu issues, also the atb is a bit goofy in that version, sometimes your slowest charecter will go 2 or 3 times in a row where your faster charecter won't get a turn for a week (this bug is only in the gba version) despite the bugs the extra stuf is pretty nicem 2 new dungeons, one being a psuedo random 50 level dungeon both add a great amount of replayablility and some new character plot points, they also haadded a feature where you can use the shitty charecters in the final dungeon (worthless twins cid and edward) pretty much the people who didn't croak. if you can overlook a few bugs, its very well done and hella worth 15$

final fantasy 5 was one of the most poorly recieved games, however despite a very lackluster story it is a fun game and they fixed any of the bugs that the port of 4 had, its the weakest of the 3 but by no means does that say its a poor game, just the least favorate of 3 hot sisters.

final fantasy 6
buy it.

I'd just nab 4 and 6. Unless you already have 1&2 also. At $15 more it's worth owning it all. I didn't play 5 until the playstation port and I really didn't care much for it.

If you only get one, get VI, if you've never played it. In every way it's light years ahead of all the other FF's released up until that point. IMO of course.

Okay, I'm going to go pick up V and VI today, but I was wondering which FF I & II was better, the GBA, PSP, or PSX versions. Thanks for the help.

The PS1 is the best FF1+2. This is because PS1 FF1 has an option for Normal or Easy mode, while in GBA FF1 you are forced to use the easy mode. Also in GBA FF1 they replaced the magic system with the "standard" MP points thing, so you end up with a game that doesn't really feel like the original NES edition.

Tsk. They remembered the Wonderswan, but not the Wonderswan Color.

I'd pick up 5 and 6, I hated 4 with a passion.
