Need Help: USA PSX Game Soundtrack CDs?

Hey Everyone!

So I have discovered a new niche in the PSX universe that I want to meddle in, but have very little knowledge about.

I want to collect USA PlayStation Game soundtracks / promo soundtracks - and don't know what's available.

What I currently know of to exist on the USA side is:

Also, that Fox Hunt soundtrack is a soundtrack in the sense that it's got nothing to do with the game itself... I don't think I ever heard the songs in the game, but I haven't really played it that much.

Wipeout XL aka Wipeout 2097 has a great soundtrack that made it to CD.

You're missing all the TokyoPop Soundtrax retail releases. Both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV got separate releases in relation to Final Fantasy Chronicles, and there's Final Fantasy: S Generation ("S" as in Sony; there's a "N" Generation too). There are also releases for Final Fantasy IX and Parasite Eve II. Those should be all of their releases related to PSX games, but it's darn hard to find a comprehensive list of everything the short-lived branch of TokyoPop released. It might be fun to track them down just for the sake of a collection, but they kinda suck if you want them for the music. All but Parasite Eve II are "best of" albums, so you only get a handful of tracks from each (and it adds insult to injury that Parasite Eve II's soundtrack is largely unremarkable; why they made the decision to give THAT one a full release is beyond me). I guess it's nothing unusual for US soundtrack releases to get shortchanged, though. It would be interesting to know just how many of the soundtracks on your list are actually full soundtracks.

You know, a lot of Namco titles also had soundtracks [Ace Combat series, Ridge Racer, etc].

Unsure if they got released in the states, though.

Well, if you start talking about PSX games that got soundtracks in general, then I'm sure there are hundreds of soundtracks related to PSX games that got released in Japan.

And this is strictly USA only - I would be insane to try Japan....for god's sake even ZXE'D's soundtrack got released!
