I can tell you it sucks. Or so I think. It's essentially a very short skateboarding course, and n even shorter surfing segment. Anyone who payed $50 for it back in the day did not get nearly enough bang for the buck. I'm pretty sure LJN published it.

Indeed, I got more than my $40 back in the day from the cartridge.

I loved that game when I was a kid. Sure there's not much to it, but it's probably got more depth than your average atari game, and the audio/visuals are pretty good for the period. I still play it occasionally, although often just to laugh at the lame sound the seagulls make.
Gary's description of the game is accurate, though. There's also a sequel-->Thrilla's Surfari. I tried it for a couple minutes no too long ago. I was really bad at it and didn't feel too motivated to keep going with it. It seems to lack the character/charm that the first one had, despite the fact that it's a more complex game.

I played that game a ton when I was 7, but I also played the hell out of any garbage game you put in front of me (Deadly Towers, Volleyball, etc). I didn't discriminate. T&C hasn't aged well and I can't see ever playing it again except for a cheap laugh.

I only played it for a short while, but I found the sequal to be a much better game. It's a very different kind of game though. It has levels, weopons, bosses and such. People who like the orginal may not like it much because the only thing that makes it a sequal at all is that you control that gorilla. Beyond the character, it's a very different experience. Since I got bored of the original after about 2 hours, the "sequal" was refreshing to me.

T&C is awesome. The sequel sucks. End of story.
