I've been playing the Japanese version. I consider it a great improvement over COTM. Even in poor lighting conditions it shines. The music is apparently not quite up to par but since I play it on the commuter train with no sound that doesn't really bother me. I was stuck for a while before I figured out what the teleport was (I wish I knew how to read Japanese).
