colecoviosion help

I just got a new power supply in the mail and hooked up my colecviosion only to have very crappy graphics and the constant sound of "snow" for audio. The graphics are not scrambled but it looks like there is blothces of red, green and blue all over the place. If I mess with the cable on the back of the unit, I will somtimes make it worse. The only way it clears up a bit is by moving the cable around until it make the screen go into black and white. I am using a 1 year old Radio Shack TV/game switch. model number 15-1267A. Should I just toss that and get one of those adapters or is this something inside the unit? It does this with all my games and without any games at all.

Yup, get a phono to type F converter and toss that switchbox to the wayside. It's the first place to start diagonostics. the Colecovision can be subject to all sorts of interference.
