I use a lot of add-on's for WoW on my computer. It's a real pain in the ass when I lose them and have to download them again. The WoW interface is very basic and I have a lot of cool custom mage things I like to use. I used to play FFXI on my PS2 and I don't remember there being any add-on's available for that. Do console gamers get to use things like that? As an example of what an add-on is, I use a tiny application that gives me better access to my spells by changing the graphical interface.

It's easy. I download it, drag it into my WoW folder, restart WoW and I'm done. Simple. There are hundreds of things like this.

I wish I had something like that in Super Mario Brothers 3 so I wouldn't have to hit a button to view my items in stock. To get my Hammer Brothers suit that much faster would be sweet!

I was just thinking about this the other day, because I'd be so useless in WoW without, like, Bartender and TrinketMenu. I don't think too many other online games, console or otherwise, use things like this. The reason is that I think cheating would be a big concern if the modder community wasn't highly policed. I'm actually surprised that Blizzard has pulled it off as well as they have.

I think it has a lot to do with mostly everything gameplay related being server generated.
Note: They just disabled my BigWigs a couple days ago. Said something about it giving me access to things that I should only "be able to access through Blizzards interface." You're right, they've really pulled it off well, to a surprising degree.
