I was looking through the December 07 finds thread and noticed some of you were picking up brand new 360 games for $8 a piece. So I went over to CAG to check out the master list and it looks as though most of the games are around $17 a piece on the list they had. So I was just wondering if this sale is going on this week and if the games are $8 or if they are $17 or if it depends on the store. Any info would be great. Lock this if somebody else started it and I missed it please.

They had a couple of PS2 games at that price too, but they were only ~$10 anyhow (i.e. Art of Fighting Anthology). They also had "Call of Juarez" (360) listed at $8, but it was out of stock.

Call of Juarez and Monster Madness are $7.99 this week at Circuit City. Most stores sold out of these titles Sunday. You can always check your local store, but based on the posts at CAG, it would likely be a waste of time.

The $16.96 titles listed over at CAG are clearance prices for the entire year of 2007. Most of the games listed are long out of stock.

There is a monthly thread over at CAG that lets people know what the latest clearance games are. The $16.96 price is not a weekly sale price. It's their regular "clearanced" price until they sell out of those particular titles. On rare occasions, the price goes lower after a few months. 360 titles don't sit around long enough to warrant further clearance prices. Bomberman Act Zero ($12.96) and Madden '06 ($8.96) being the only exceptions.

I'm in the minority, but I didn't think Red Steel was too bad. Some of the later sword fights are annoying, and not having in-level game saves sucks. But for $8, that's a good deal IMO.

Yeah... I picked up Red Steel for the Wii from the 7.99 sale today. If I were you I'd check Cheap Ass Gamer (like someone posted above), because they usally have the sales and clearance items posted almost a week in advance sometimes. If CAG has it posted, it's usually correct. Again, you have to really pay attention to the dates because they have next weeks and the previous weeks sales posted a lot of the time.

Believe it or not, I live in Richmond, which is the home of Circuit City. Ironically, though, all of the Circuit Cities are 20 miles or more away from me, which is why I haven't bothered to chase down the Monster Madness game...

I am not sure if it is all the stores, the employees did not know. They said they just changed the prices this morning. They had almost all of the Gamecube games marked down to 8.97-12.97.. Y'know, I keep thinking about picking up Monster Madness on the 360 because I read a review stating that it was like a cartoony version of Gauntlet. But every store I see it at has it for $40-$60. Not only do I refuse to go into a Circuit City after a few very bad experiences, I refuse to pay full price for games that I know Circuit City sold off for $8. I keep hoping Monster Madness will drop down to $15 or so, that way I could justify picking it up.

I can confirm the sale, it takes place. I let a local CC check the prices.

I was mistrustful and suspected YMMV because the .97 price isn't a common CC nationwide clearance bin sale. However, the actual prices end in .96, the games are indeed on clearance.

I don't care to know every little markdown in existence, so I don't feel like bothering to register for CAG and check there all the time. CAG doesn't have this posted yet, actually (as far as I can tell), so it's nice to have an advanced heads up. And I agree, I don't need to know when a $40 game is marked down to $37, but these more drastic markdowns are nice to hear about. If these types of threads became more frequent it would get annoying, but I think a few good ones every once in awhile are nice.

Anyone who was thinking of going to CC, you better hurry...I just went back to pick up a few more games and the store was cleaned out. I was able to get a few games, but most of the really good deals are gone. I am glad I went yesterday, I now have about 15 GC games to catch up on. I hit up all three CC's in town and almost everything was gone.

There was a copy of Dawn of Mana sitting on the shelf with the non-bargain bin games. The selection wasn't bad but I was hoping for more Gamecube titles. They literally have only four. A few copies of Zelda: TP, Smash Bros. Melee, and I can't remember the other one squished by the Wii games, and a single copy of Cars sitting in one of the bins.

They had a couple copies of Art of Fighting Anthology for $10 and I would have grabbed that if Art of Fighting weren't so terrible. I was pining picking up an extra GCN controller too as the official Nintendo ones seem harder and harder to find on the shelves.

Nice prices. Even though you can probably find them online for similar prices, its still nice to be able to walk into a store and purchase something on the spot O_o

That's not the reason. Starting today, all of the clearance games are going for an additional 33% off. It's in today's circular. But you can get a price adjustment for any games that were purchased in the last 30 days, and they'll refund the difference back to you.

I've got to go back and get price adjustments on a bunch of games including Genji and God Hand.

How does one go about doing that? I bought a good chunk of those games over Friday and Saturday, so I know I'd get a good amount of cash back.

Go to customer center and just show them your receipt showing you paid X amount of bucks and you want price adjustment and refund and they will do it.

Also side note peeps Target had Stranglehold and Folklore for $14.98...didn't grab any copies but I did get some off CAG members for like $20 shipped.

It was sitting on the shelves with the other games that weren't on clearance. The reason I found it strange you missed it is because it wasn't behind anything. It was sitting out in the open. I could venture a guess that maybe when you were there it was somewhere else entirely and someone rearranged things between the time you left and I arrived.

Yeah totally a possibility...its the Wayne one rather my mistake. I figured I took the last 2 Odin Spheres cause there were none this morning at 10am unless they restock...I have to get back there this week when new games are marked down.

The only game I found i wanted was Animal Crossing for the Gamecube, and I went to three CC's here in town. It was $6.00, not bad since it comes with a memory card too. Oh well, maybe next time.

I found a Odin Sphere this afternoon (last one). Price tag said $16.96 but it rang up as $11.36. I'm not going to complain but it's strange about the YMMV on this one. I thought CC clearance prices were universal.

I checked my local Circuit City and didn't find squat, which I was expecting. I'm glad I didn't make a special trip out there on the weekend (I was passing by it today, anyway). The clearance bins were mostly filled with UMD movies, along with a bunch of 19.99 games that weren't on clearance but I guess placed there because of their low MSRPs, like Patapon. o_O

It's not YMMV. A sale went into effect yesterday for 33% off all clearance games. The sale goes through Saturday. After the sale is over, Odin Sphere and any other $16.96 games will go back to that price.

I picked up a game called tiato legends 2 for the ps2 it was stickered for 14.99 but rang up for 9.99. It claims 39 games but the only ones I know is elevator action ,dairius,and space invaders dx. Looks interesting.

I also have an extra odins sphere can trade for a dawn of mana.

Has anyone experienced their local CC adding different games to the bargain bin? I first went Sunday, then I went again today, they had the same stuff expect they added copies of Starfox Command for the DS. That gives me hope maybe they will add different games to the bin during the week.

The Taito Legends 1 & 2 packs are some of the best values for the PS2. Plenty of obscure 2D shooters, beat 'em ups and puzzle games.

I went back to Circuit City and picked up Virtua Fighter 5 for PS3 which is on sale for $19.99 with the 33% off.

I also got Superman: The Movie on HD-DVD for $12.49 and a pre-owned copy of Mercenaries for PS2 for $12.99. Believe it or not, the game was cheaper than Gamestop, which is charging $24.99 used for it. It was in perfect condition, manual and all!

All HD-DVDs are 50% off this week in addition to the videogame clearance sale.

Is it just mean, or are a lot more DS and PSP games shrinkwrapped now instead of having "factory cellophane", at least at Circuit City?

Also, I thought I read somewhere that DS Zoo Tycoon was getting harder to find, but I still see copies at CC and BB. Anyone need that one? I wouldn't mind a trade, maybe for Taito Legends (my local only has TL2), for instance.
