This is a tough call. Some might say they are the same, but any diehard SF veteran like myself begs to differ. RYU is stronger , and KEN is faster. If I had to pick, I would pick KEN. Also he has the better Dragon Punch ( Fire Dragon Punch that was introduced in SSF2 :D

Ken hands down. Ryu is a drifter, and nine times out nine, he's wearing whatever he had on the day before. Ken is a suave rich kid. He's got the cash and the credit to do whatever he wants. He also owns a sweet, cherry red Porshe 911 Turbo that he and Eliza cruise around in.
It's good to be rich :P

Ken, definately. Close enough to my own name (Kevin, therefore he's good in my book), good gi (geez, just how frayed IS Ryu's gi?), and he's a combo guy (Ryu's just blunt and arrogant. "Ryu smash!!!").
There you have it, Ken can kick Ryu's ass. Indubidibally.

Eh, I always thought they wereboth pretty similar.
I could never really get attached to any SF characters...at least, not until Squaresoft kidnapped Blanka. :-D

I'm picking Ryu here. I always liked his original Street Fighter II ending, in which he shuns the glory of winning the tournament and heads off for more training. Remember, the fight is everything.
And unlike Ken, Ryu is smart enough to avoid the noose of matrimony. Good for him.

Ryu all the way. Ken's a pansy with no soul.
And SFIII's delayed hadoken super is the coolest move ever.
And c'mon... Evil Ryu! Who'd ever play as Evil Ken? I'd rather play Evil Dan.

Ya know what always REALLY BUGGED ME about Street Fighter?
Ryu IS better with a dragon punch, and the whole storyline of many characters shows this (He beat sagat with a dragon punch) BUT, when the super moves come out, what happens? Ryu gets the Fireball, and Ken gets the dragon punch, WTF is up with THAT?!?!?
