Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise. It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever.

After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming.

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th, around noon CST, we will release the first teaser trailer from Duke Nukem Forever. To tide you over until then, here is a screen shot taken from the teaser.

Yawn. Okay, it took them 11 years to get a clip of Duke lifting a weight, and two snippits of a yelling alien. Holy cow, if anyone honestly believes this game is still coming out, I don't even know what to say. I already used my anology about electricuted mice. I have no other words to describe this level of gullibility.

IMO, even that trailer looks dated.

I was expecting something that would graphically, put Crysis to same. But after almost a decade, I guess it could say my expectations of this are higher than even Half Life 2 ever was.

In lay terms - my expectations for DN:F will probably never be met. They've dangled it in front of our faces for so long..

didn't they do pretty much this exact same thing with prey? it was supposed to come out in the mid 90s, then it disappeared. now it's out. I still think there's a chance for DN:F to come out, though I don't really care. the trailer looked pretty meh to me.

I don't know why anybody was expecting anything specatcular from this game. They keep having to scrap it and start over. So, the graphics are going to reflect the most recent start over point, and that could have been 2003 for all we know. Sure, they will try to modernize it and update as much as they can, but it might be a 3 or 4 year old engine.

God DN3D was fun. I have such great memories of that game. For that reason what 3D realms has done to Duke is just shameful. They keep tantalizing us with these tidbits, and nothing ever gets released. I will buy the game when it comes out, just because the Duke character is so hilarious. Hopefully it will be like Prey - it will come out!

Duke Nukeum Forever is just a publicity stunt that 3dRealms pulls out occasionally so that their company can remain relevant. It's never coming out. If it did, they'd never be able to use the title for publicity again, and 2nd it'd probably be a let down like most 3drealms stuff. The game is better as just a piece of lore. Let people wonder what it COULD BE. Show a teaser and keep people chasing the dragon.

BTW, I think that trailer looked pretty good. It's about damned time they updated Duke Nukem's look. 'Roids? Nah. Duke is just a badassmofo and you know that all badassmofos are always ripped like him.

it looked as good (bad) as it can on youtube. i am excited, i dont care it hasnt come out, and you cant claim the game has been in development for 11 years, cause it hasnt, they kept scrapping it for a new engine/game etc. im happy they did, obviously there was a problem and im happy they didnt rush this thing out as oh-so-many developers would do. plus the technology today is so much better than before, id rather have this than anything.

oh and i second the release of the 2001 scrapped version.
