Mother Famicom - quick question

Just got a Mother famicom cart in a trade. Was wondering if this game would be playable for a non-japanese speaker like myself if I were to hook it up (I don't wanna get out the converter).

Also, were any other earthbound games put out other than mother 1,2,3 and earthbound?

Yes, actually. There is a Japanese GBA cart that includes Mother 1 and 2, and I believe that Mother 1 is given upgraded graphics in it.
