Apparently, analysts are speculating that after the Activision-Vivendi deal, EA is going to be looking to buy another company to get themselves back into that #1 spot. Now, I'm sure that EA could easily write a $1B check and grab all of Take Two's current IP, but what happens if when Rockstar's contract comes up (in about a year I believe), they decide not to renew? I just don't think the risk is worth the outlay of capital to EA at this point in time, so I take these reports with a large grain of salt.
However, if this does come to pass, then get used to games like Bioshock and Civilization having the big round EA logo plastered on it.
