I am signed on as a vendor again this year, so I guess that means I will be there.

4 player X-Men, TMNT, or Simpsons is always good stuff.

I was there last year and plan on going again this year.

I spend most of my money at the same table, somewhere in the back of the middle if that was any of you guys.

I am pretty certain I will be there this year, but whether it will be just visiting or getting a booth....I am 80% certain I am going...I always wanted to go to this, but I was never in driving distance.

If any of you guys want to catch a few drinks, just let me know. I like my video games and love my drinking. Kamino got Blatz'd last year, who knows what can happen this year. ;)

Good times, good times.

@Dave-What else do you have that you can bring? And, I gotta go to the post office and check on those cases. You probably sent them to my last addy. Thanks either way. If I don't get you before the show, I will have something for you first thing.

I'm about 90% sure I'm going, just have to figure out what mode of transportation to use to get there. This will be my first time attending. Can't wait!

dave2236
01-11-2008, 08:49 PM
I sent the cases to the address that was on the money order when you sent that to me.

I will be bringing a 4 player cab along with my simpsons, turtles, turtles in time, and x-men boards. I also plan on bringing a Marvel vs Capcom 2, 4 player NFL Blitz 2000 gold, and 7 more games.

I will be there early Friday so plan on some drinking Friday night and Saturday night. I will be getting my own hotel room this year, so sorry I can't share a room with you again Ricardo.

also for Ian, Rich and others that wanted SNES boxes, I just packed 1000+ SNES boxes to bring to the show.

Matt-El
01-11-2008, 09:07 PM
dude, MVC2 will be cool. Also, maybe SFIII? A neo cab?

I'll still be staying over at my bro's place. Probly the last time i'll be able to, cause he's moving back to my old home town of Random Lake, working for a buddy making the same cash as he is now.

If need be, I can bring my Rock band bundle if someone brings an extra guitar. Course, depends on the room needed.

DreamTR
01-11-2008, 11:08 PM
If any of you guys have a cabinet that has connections for SFIII 3rd Strike, I will bring that board if you want. MVC2 should have connections for it sans kick harness I think...

I'm definitely in. Coming from detroit, i'm wondering if it'll be faster to take the ferry then to go through chicago...

FABombjoy
01-14-2008, 09:00 AM
I don't think either ferry will be running that early. It would be faster, but it's expensive. I wanted to do the ferry last year... round trip for 4 & a vehicle was $600.

Now that it's in March, I don't think I can make it this year.

Would anyone be interested in splitting a room on Friday and Saturday nights?

I made a reservation and got two queen beds at 92+tax for each night, but wouldn't mind having more $$$ for the dealer room.

I will be there, again, and will be having a party, AGAIN.

This year I decided to mix it up a bit though.

Instead of the normal 2 rooms ajoining I got one 2 bedroom suite. Thats right a suite with its own wetbar.

Hope to see you all again this year, that includes you Blatzman.

I got 2 tables this year 1 for my store items and 1 for the Book Classic 80's Home Video Games. We should just be getting it in time for the show to sell for the first time. Also I am going to offer free shipping on all orders placed at the show on games and if anyone who will be attending and wants to place an order before the show and pick it up at the show that would be fine with me and save you the shipping.

@Progace-I'm down to smash some beers. Perkar, Carey85 and I should be there Fri. Unless my work schedules me for Ot and I can't get out of it. There is also a small bar/club by the lobby. A great place that serves some killer burgers in the downtown part also. I think it was called Lakers?

Can't wait to go to this. Was at it for the 1st time last year and I was amazed!!!!!

How far is everything from Minneapolis because I might be able to swing the trip if it's an easy driving from there daily since I have plenty of places to crash in the cities and would prefer that to renting a room.

for some reason I was thinking it was closer (then again I've only driven a good 5 minutes into Wisconsin once)...guess I have to decide in the coming week here if I can afford the trip then since I'd have to spend money on a room. Time to find out how much I get for my tax return.

it's a two hr drive from IL to WI, but I found less expensive way of coming to MGC
and since I'm not doinga display any more for MGC(I'm usally doing Jagfest)
I went with megabus. only cost 5.50 round trip(plus 70.00 for shuttle back and forth from hotel to amtrak downtown).
if you book megabus exactly 45days ahead your mega bus cost would be 2.50 rround trip.
which I might be doing for 2009.
sure beats 41.00 for Amtrak though(as well as paying for your own gas if you drive at 3.00 a gallon)

Took me & the wife 5 hrs last year (sure it didnt take 6, might w/ a stop or 2) from St Paul, pretty straight shot on I-94 East w/ a couple left turns at the end of the trip.

Cant go this yr, that same wife is due w/ twins around then. I would appreciate it if someone would do a little shopping for me there- I'll have a very short, easy list. PM me if you'd like to help me.

BTW, if you're having a tough time convincing the wife/gf/etc to go along, the Olympia is a real nice place, w/ a salon/spa, in/outdoor pools, & other amenities. She'd have a real nice time there, if just for a wkend away.

Carey85
02-21-2008, 08:24 PM
They've got a bar too, with cheap booze... Not to mention a breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet. It does, however, piss me off that the gift shop charges a ridiculous amount for hangover-killing orange juice...

RJ
02-22-2008, 10:43 AM
Oh man, how did I forget the breakfast buffet???

So much bacon...

& were there 2 bars? One a bit quieter/out of the way, & the other hosted live bands/music IIRC.

Dan Iacovelli

Carey85
02-23-2008, 07:50 PM
Yeah, the buffets are great. However, there was almost bloodshed at the dinner buffet last year when they ran out of prime rib and replaced it with ribeye steaks, people were pretty much not happy about the situation...

Heh, I think I'm going to pass on Spinnakers. There's a kickass bar right around the corner from there that we went to one night last year that had some excellent burgers. Called Lakers' or something. Also, any word on whether or not Atariage is setting up at the show?

02-28-2008, 09:48 AM
Um....why is this being held in March? Anyone happen to have any insight?

I do!

The quick version of the story is that when we inquired about the June dates, they were booked with only a few dates open. I started calling around to a lot of the other contacts that we use for the show, and found that it would be *greatly cheaper* for us to advertise during an earlier point of the year. A lot of our vendors also told me that they would rather have it earlier in the year because it would stop the conflict of weddings and graduation parties that we had. Finally, someone said that we shouldn't hold it on one of the eight nice weekends that Milwaukee gets every year.

We agreed with every one of those things, so instead of trying to keep it in June and finding a new location, we moved it to March. We're getting a *ton* of new cool stuff that will be going on because of it. I spent all day yesterday talking with people about new stuff. I'm really excited to start mentioning the new stuff that our radio stations will be doing, and just yesterday we put most of the finishing touches on a huge, awesome Guitar Hero III tournament we should be announcing sometime next week.

I probably won't have much time to post on here until after the show, but I hope to see everyone there this year!

I will also have some bead stuff in tow, if anyone wants anything done, let me know ASAP and we'll see what I can do. especially if you can keep it within black/white/yellow/blue/red/ green/orange/pink/lightpurple/brown and have something to trade/pay me with at the event. advertise mode OFF.

but yeah, looking forward to it. seeing some familiar people, and sucking at pinball, hell yes.

Unfortunately, there's no public transportation going out there. Oconomowoc's pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

I will be there Saturday for sure.

animesuperj
03-18-2008, 11:51 PM
There is a bus that goes from Milwaukee to Oconomowoc. The Waukesha Flyer (coach bus) goes from Milwaukee out to Brookfield (to Brookfield Square mall) and then out to Goerke's Corners and downtown Waukesha. From downtown Waukesha, you can transfer out to Oconomowoc. Exactly WHERE in Oconomowoc, I'm not sure; but it's at least out to the area.

I take this bus from Brookfield down to UW-Milwaukee almost everyday for school. It'll stop at UWM, and then along Wisconsin Ave. at a couple spots, then go out to Brookfield/Waukesha. If you take the Amtrak in, it's a couple blocks walk to a stop for the bus out to Waukesha.

This is probably the only thing that'll go from Milwaukee out to Oconomowoc with only one transfer. It'll also probably take about an hour and a half, but hey, no driving and it's a coach bus!

Dan Iacovelli
