A friend showed this to me and I'm wondering, legit item or very good bootleg.

The sloppy sticker has me concerned, but my only guess would have been for the Linux Kit.

Bootleg.

Sony has never released anything but an 8MB card for the PS2 in any market. If you look closely at the tip of the 4 in 64 its not right. The Magic Gate is about twice as thick as it should be. Look closely at MEMORY in MEMORY CARD. Those letters arn't straight and look like they move up and down in placement. Also that sticker on the back is never put on so crooked.

The SCPH-10020 thats showing on the back of the molded part of the card is a model number for the 8MB card. They'd never keep the same model number for a bigger card. The screws on the back shouldn't sink in like that, they should actually stick up and almost be flush with the top of the case. That Check in front of the N1158 is about twice the size that it should be inside that circle.

I'm sure the plastic also feels different than the black plastic of the 8MB card.

Linux kits didn't come with a memory card. They came with a 40GB HDD for you to do everything on.

Aside from the legitimacy of these cards, which I doubt are legitimate, whats the quality like?

I always wanted to purchase one, but was unsure of the quality. Any game save problems?

Come on now guys.....it's a FAKE!

BTW: The scam is that they will claim really is 64 Mega.....bits, not bytes, then it would be an 8 meg card right.
