Wii Sports Variant

No this is not a thread about ebay auctions on wii sports in a custom dvd case.

Today i helped my dad set up his wii and start playing wii sports and i noticed something peculiar while playing. The in game tutorials have the images of the wiimote changed to the wiimote with the rubber grip on it.

I thought i would bring attention to that. i'll try do more research on it later.

could it be that those images are just part of the firmware? more research needs to be done!

Nope, my older games still show up with the old intro. They've updated the intro pic on the disc.

Its new code in the most recent version of the game. It's been that way since the introduction of that Nintendo grip cover thing.

Wii Box art is also different now from the launch box in regards to some of the art layout.
