I've been collecting for almost two years, and, after losing my old spreadsheet, have FINALLY redocumented everything I own. This project took almost 2 months for me to finally finish (with work and everything else on the side)...WHEW!!!!!!

Check it out if you are curious. Here is the link:

Also, if anyone wants to chime in and let me know what they think it is worth it would be appreciated, but I am not trying to sell this right now. I mainly wanted to share what I've amassed with the DP community!

what your whole collection is worth? is that what you are asking?

i just completely recataloged my collection as well in excel. its great - my advice to you is to put everything in alphabetical order.

what i did is i have a 'master list' worksheet and its in the order of when i bought the game and has how much i paid for each game. then i have a worksheet for each system and every game is alphabetized for easy viewing. i still havent added a worksheet for the consoles themselves though like you have. maybe i should do that... hmm

I made the stupid mistake of making my list in 'Word', I really wish i had used Excel, all the variation notes on each game make it look a mess. If I get a spare day or 2 i'll convert it over.

I like those sites you can use to make a list of your games, the ones where you get a score and it says a value, but it wouldnt work for mine as I have so many variations, some games i have the same game 8 times but each has a packaging variation.

Holy crap @ number of new games compared to number of used games. You need to start tearing some shrinkwrap and getting some play out of those PS2 titles :)

I'm still using Open Game Lister, though I'm a bit bummed that it hasn't been updated in the last year. Whenever I have any questions then the author is super helpful though, which is cool. Just wish it would grow some more features (such as the ability to edit previously entered entries within OGL instead of having to use an SQL database editor or delete/reenter them). Links in sig block. :)

as for online databasing -- rfgeneration.com is probably one of the best out there.

Your not going to find one that accurately lists prices for you like that.

IGN's list does show prices, but who knows where their prices are coming from or how accurate they are (which isn't very). Glancing over your list, i'm noticing that your primary focus is on the more current type games. Most of those games havn't settled into a place where you can get a standard price for them.

Also mentioned is spending the extra few minutes to alphabetize your games. It'll help in tracking them a little better and preventing doubles from being bought.

That's a pretty nice collection. You've got some nice PS2 games in that list. But new though!? Thats insane, when you going to play those games?

yeah no one can accurately price what you have spent on a game. 1up.com has prices as well, but no telling where they come from.

Good idea, I can do that in probably 30 seconds.

As far as the sealed games...I'm not planning on opening them. I'm from the school of collector's that think collecting and playing games are separate hobbies. Plus sealed games are worth too dang much nowdays.

Well, I used Notepad, so you're ahead of me. I'm currently going back and doing it all in Excel since I'm saying up for the next eight hours and need something mind numbing to do for that long.

Great job I am so jealous. I have been wanting to do that for some time Just to get a handle on it. I have so much around me I dont know where to begin. As far as what I paid for each item the funny thing is I still remember for the most part what i paid for Items or close to it.

How did you get started did you seperate into piles? Start small to big?

actually - what i did was put together my 'room of doom'. once i had everything on shelves and sorted by system i printed out the dp lite lists and just went through the shelves and marked off what i had. typing that info into excel wasn't nearly as bad as you think, probably took me 3-4 hours (maybe less) over the span of a few weeks.

on a side note....now that i got everything out and organized, i have to pack it all up again. we are moving into a house, so now all this stuff is probably just going to stay boxed up in the basement for a year or two.

You can still paste it all into excel and then have it break it out into cells for you without having to retype everything all over again. :)

Nice list. I am thinking of splitting my game list into separate worksheet. Putting all the game into one list is really painful to browse.

This is part of my resolution list for the new year. Not top priority, but would be nice. Congrats.
