I recently bought a game gear but no sound was coming from the speaker. I thought it was a blown speaker but when I plugged some headphones in I got very, very faint sound from the right and none from the left. any help?
oh and while I'm at it does anybody do S-video mods for a genesis model 2?
Thanks in advance

this is not an uncommon problem with the gamegear, see here: http://www.smspower.org/dev/docs/ggsoundfix/
you want to replace the second capacitor aswel, as it explans at the very bottom of the page.

i did this in a couple of gamegears with bad sound. the NEC turbo express and turbo duo have this problem too, i heard that it was an isue with cheap capacitors being used.

i had the strangest problem with my turbo express.. when the guy shipped it off, he said the sound didnt work, after however many hours in low pressure on a plane, it arrived here and it was completely dead, every single capacitor in the unit had leaked. i replaced every single one and it works again now, but grey is rainbow coloured. he wasnt lying about it worknig when it left either, he gave me a huge refund bringing the amount actually paid down to $15 or $20.
thats how bad the caps are.
