I've googled this and numerous people have had the problem on the computer version, but no one has posted about it happening on PS2. I'm using a slim PS2 and a Greatest Hits version of the game. Any help?

OK, I dropped Aeris from the party and it's gotten further, but it froze at a diferent place this time. After he;s done explaining the LifeStream, I can run around, but I can't do anything at all. What gives?

Nooo clue. I've run FF7 on my bulky PS2 fine before. If you have a normal PS1 or PS2, maybe try running the game on there instead?

Currently in the process of that, and it makes it to the point where I can run around, but that's all.

OK, this is weird. I switched to Barret and Aeris, and it seems to be working better than ever. So far it's ran smoothly and there was an fmv sequence I hadn't seen yet. Nothing major, probably just a scene Aeris was supposed to get here, but idk.WTF? Worked perfectly.

1. The PC game might freeze at the Shinra celebration area when you are about to reach the platform where your ship will be eventually. Coming back here the game might freeze again.

This is dew to the MIDI limitations of your MIDI player. This is why the game comes with it's own MIDI player.

2. In the PC version with various code programs you can edit your entire party so that you can have Aeris at the end of the game. However since Aeris has no lines certain scenes might freeze.

They gave her no lines since she leaves the game early. While Aeris is the ultimate Healer/Magic attacker there is no way for you to see any of her more spectacullar abilities unless you went crazy leveling up with her in the game which is kinda meaningless.

She does comeback in the game in later scenes as a ghost.

3. Some PSX games will act abmormally. FF8 will have frost everytime in battle for a long while and then might freeze where everything is covered in white. FF9 might get glitchy in battles.

4. FF games in emulation have special fixes also.

I know about the Chocobo racing bug under Win2k/XP, but this is an entirely new one on me.

It is a Win 95/98 error. I am guessing the midi player in 2000/XP/Vista is entirely diffrent.
