So, I thought I had my issue fixed. After various restarts of my wireless router, checking settings, and connection tests I had my Wii on the internet. I updated the system info just fine, and was playing Mario strikers for about two hours last night. Well...In the middle of my final game I lost connection, and now no matter what I try I can't seem to get back on the internet...I've tried moving the router, moving the Wii, resetting the router and my internet, resetting the wii....I've never had so many issues with internet connectivity. My computer which is a mere 5 feet from the Wii is running off of the router just fine. Any idea what the problem could be?

I had similar issues with my Wii and my wireless router on day one.
Try changing the "channel" on your router. There may be other wireless routers in the immediate area, and I've found that both the Wii and the PS3 are pretty susceptible to trying to auto log-in to other local routers on the same channel that are not YOUR router causing log-in errors.
And if that doesn't work, there's always the NYKO USB ethernet adapter. I currently use a compatible wired ethernet adapter with my Wii, and that sucker never disconnects.

This has happened twice with my wireless router (WRT-54G) in the 2+ years I've had it. The only solution was to reset the router to factory settings and re-install the firmware. I'm not talking about "updating" the firmware, I'm talking about totally starting over. Just like if you were using the router for the first time. It was a hassle both times, but it was the only thing that worked. I got the advice from the Link-Sys help boards. Not sure what router you have, but I'd give it a try.

Well, im a bit hesitant to jump to that, because I had issues with the wii from the start and my computer is running off the router just fine right now.

I had the same thing happen when downfall brought his over to my house one night. It just simply would not connect to the interwebs like it had done in the past. I did some digging around on the nintendo forums before they were closed down and someone there had recommended changing the channel setting from 1 to 11 or 13 or reverse of that if it was set the other way. So I changed the setting on my WRT-54 router and everything worked out fine. Give it a shot.

Changing it from 11 to 1 seems to have worked but I don't wanna hold my breath... last time I had it running it stopped suddenly.

It should work with just changing the channel. I had to stay on the phone with the nintendo rep for 3 hours for him to do that for me but i haven't had problems since, and thats that my computer is about 50 ft away from my wii

Yes. changing the channel from 11 to 1 seems to have fixed the problem for me thus far no complaints.

Congrats!
And, as I stated earlier, that problem solver also works for PS3 WiFi.

I was confused for a bit. The Nintendo help told me to try 1 or 11 and 11 was very very in and out. While 1 is pretty steady. I've never had such problems with wifi.
