I'm confused as to what this cord is used for. I found it in a pawn shop a while back and haven't been able to figure it out. I've compared it to the miracle piano and its conversion kit for pc but neither of them have 2 controller ports nor are they missing the prongs from the NES end. I don't have a computrainer so I can't check that, but as of right now that's my only guess. Any help is appreciated!

No ideas at all?

Maybe it came with one of those universal wireless joysticks that could be used on different systems by changing the ends on the receiver for the system you're using? Just a guess.

Might be an NES controller to Serial port adapter. Can't tell for sure.

could it be the elusive miracle piano cable?

I've seen that cable.

That's not it.

I think that's the adapter for the Supersonic wireless joystick. That's what it uses to connect the receiver to the system. I just tossed the controller in the trash because I was missing that adapter.

Yeah, it's most likely a joystick cable.

Hmm, I can't find any pictures of the supersonic controller with a cord. It seems like a strange idea to put a cord on a wireless controller receiver.

How else would the receiver communicate with the system, then?

I would think it would plug right in to the system. I don't have one so I can't be sure, but it seems kinda backwards to make a wireless controller with a wired receiver, and more backwards to make the receiver wire detachable! Again though I don't have one so I guess I don't know but all the pictures with "complete" ones don't show a cord.

Funny you posted this I was going through a box the other day and said what the heck is this. It looks to be the same thing, but with 4. Two nes and two atari/genesis. It says P1-P2 for each.

Neat! Are the ends the on the NES side the same as mine, with the 2 missing prongs? I really wish I could get something concrete on this, it's been bugging me not know what it's for for like 4 years now!

It is a parallel port. Mine has 25 pins male end. Is yours the same end? I can't tell from pic.

No all prongs here. I also notice that your prongs stick out, and mine do not.

Yeah, mine is the same 25 pin male. I always thought it was weird that the prongs stick out on mine, I never tried plugging it in, because I figured it wouldn't do anything without whatever is supposed to be on the end, which it probably wont. But maybe I'll try it.

Just tried it, nothing. Makes sense, but I figured it was worth a shot. It fits though, even with the crazy prongs.

Well with a little help I figured out what mine is for, and yours is probably something similar. Mine goes to quick shot wireless controllers. Parallel port hooks to the back of the receiver. Just like others in post mentioned.
