01. Build a box around it.
02. Advertise it as an arcade game.
03. List it for $1,200.

Man that's bad. I saw the crap posted on Craig'slist DFW, selling for 5,000 when I was fishing around on New Years Day. Are you kidding me?? At least mod it or use a HD tv, backlight it, something!

its a neat concept, although a bit crude looking
and at least he's not selling a mame cabinet with 1000s of roms, It does come with the original cartridges and system.

I remeber back in the 80s they advertised a similar "box" cabinet thing that you could put your nes in, I always wanted to get it ;-)

$20 worth of plywood and black high-gloss house paint aside ...

... that thing looks structurally dangerous.

All you need is for some youngster to hop up and lean on the joystick "shelf" and I'd bet it'd all come toppling over front-ways and squish the eager moppet.

most certanly is not to ship that via usps in ANY manner hes going to have a hard time finding a shipper for $200 much less $75 but charging that much for that little this guy is gonna have money to burn assuming anyone bids on this... thing

Concept is cool, execution is terrible. So is the price.

He's selling his TV short, it looks much bigger than 13" :embarrassed:

Will never sell unless he just the actual Nintendo stuff and just sells that, turning the plywood into firewood. Probably get $200 or so, no? $3,000 though is hilarious.

Actually i doubt he'll get top dollar for it, who in their right mind would buy that... well i guess some would, but yeah that would be a rarity.

OT: Hey sniderman, ill take a videogame clock for -$9 + shipping. :)

Hmm... this guy must post in the MAME area here. What a carpenter. Looks like something I'd be capable of building- which is not a compliment.

It's neat, but damn. That price! *_*

It should really have a bezel with some Nintendo flavor art around it. Ya know, to hide the fact that your playing on a crap Sylvania Wal-Mart special TV set. lol

It's kinda like a tutorial on converting a crappy tv stand into a even more crappy barely-an-arcade-cab. EPIC FAIL O_O

As much as I'd love to have something like this, it fails to impress me with it's ability to only hold 100 games. 100 games??? For crying out loud, how do I pick thru my collection and pick 1/3 of my nes games to go in the thing? What if I have an idiot moment and want to play Final Fantasy standing up with a stick instead of on my couch in front of my TV on my NES, or in the bathroom on my GBA, or on another TV on my playstation, or on a friends toilet with their PSP.

Oh, and it's ugly. It looks like the spawn of two dead monkeys and a wood chipper. Damn thing would be best used in a wood chipper.

You can get one of those Ubercade kit things with a PC, WG D9200, 487 buttons and 16 trackballs on a 6 foot control panel with eight cupholders for about the same price.

Having been a woodworker for several years in the past, that construction is slipshod and extremely unstable. Even so, it isn't bad if it's just a beginner's project.

This topic also reminds me that I've been wanting to build an interchangeable-system stand-up cabinet for some years now...

A couple of times a year, back in the NES era, there used to be pictures of these type of set-ups sent into Nintendo Power by letter writers.

"Hey Nintendo Power, look what my dad built. It's a Nintendo arcade machine and there's even a cup holder on the side!"

The one in that auction doesn't even look as good as the ones that used to be featured in pictures from the Nintendo Power letters section.

Fortunately nobody will be dumb enough to buy that. Everybody who would actually be foolish enough to purchase something like that probably can't afford the asking price and the people who could know that thing ain't worth it.

Married Men Of DP: Are you fed up with your marriage, looking to get a divorce but don't want to look like the "bad guy" by bringing up the subject with the Missus? Have no fear. Bid on that Nintendo arcade machine and the Missus will bring up the subject for you.

Are there still pics of that "Pacmamea" cabinet somewhere? The official site seems to be dead.

EDIT: Here it is (http://1uparcade.robandmitsue.com/arcade-const-panels.html).

/me gets an idea, but not that horrible.

Yeah, I do like the idea of a game rack installed on the side but the rest is complete trash. I wouldn't mind setting up a console cab as some others have done on here, and leagues better to boot.

Or just throw a good NES emulator like Nesticle on a CPU in a MAME cabinet.

(I have it on mine ... as well as a copy of Gens)

The one thing I most agree with the Crapmame guy on is, what is up with people wanting to shove home conoles in an arcade cab? I don't get that at all. Consoles were designed for sitting on the couch and playing, which is tons more comfortable and convient than a stand up cab. I mean, I guess if you are building an emulator box anyway, go nuts. But the Tomb Raider and Link cabs? Umm...wtf?

Of course, I don't get why people go gaga for Playchoice cabs either. To eash his own, I guess.

I agree but I can understand why people build MAME cabinets that can support Saturn and Dreamcast consoles due to the amount of accurate arcade perfect ports and enhanced ports both systems provide. Of course, as has been mentioned, a MAME cabinet allows you to do it all for older consoles and it's no big chore or embarrassment to have console emulators as a bonus for a MAME machine.

Absolute.

Shit.
Wow.
Maybe I'd buy it if firewood were more expensive.
