Is this Japanese game playable without knowing Japanese? How is it?

I found the 3DO version with no FAQ, translation, or hack completely UNplayable.

Well, it was mainly to point out there's a translation of the game in general. If you already have a 3DO copy of the game then the PS translation game or script might help out.

Yes, Actually I am looking for a playstation copy of the game now. A local store had the JP 3DO version oh well.

Eventually, the group doing the PS1 translation will begin work and complete some of the other Policenauts ports such as 3DO and Sega Saturn, just be patient.

I personally think the game is still very playable even in Japanese...IF you are used to playing import games :) If you need any import help, you can check out my site. I have a basic walkthrough on there and pics of all the versions. I also posted a lot of videos of Policenauts (inclduing the 3DO) version on my YouTube page. Whatever version you go with, it is a great follow-up to Snatcher. Enjoy!
