Gluing cardboard

Alright, this may seem like a silly question, but bear with me. Is there any special type of adhesive for cardboard, or will regular paper glue work just fine? I ask, because my Lunar: SSSC box has a flap that popped open on the front, and I have to glue it back. Thanks.

(I tried searching, but as you can imagine, "cardboard" and even "glue" show up a lot on this message board.)

Same here, goes for posterboard to rebuild arcade monitor shrouds too.

A hot glue gun may leave a blob that's got too much mass for you to press the cardboard section back down smoothly.

Might I recommend a can of Spray Glue (PERMANENT adhesion / high-tack) you can spray it outdoors (trust me ... the area below what you're spraying will become a sticky mess ... and if it's a rug, you'll wish you hadn't) onto a swab and then rub it between the gluing surfaces for great results.

I've got plenty of graphic design portfolio pieces containing paper and cardboard that have remained glued for years with the stuff.

That spray glue stuff sounds interesting. I'd already used a hot glue gun before reading your reply, though :| It worked fine, but if the flap pops up again, I'll look into the spray glue.

Yeah, learning how to spread a smooth, flat bead of glue with a hot glue gun is useful. You can't just blob it all over the place, although that's probably how it was glued at the factory the first time. LOL
