I need help ID'ing this promo package...

I came across this while packing up my video game systems. I can't find out much about it except it might be a rare promo package from Nintendo Power in 1990. It's a Dragon Warrior II map showing the dungeons on one side and showing items/spells/monsters/etc on the other. Comes with a letter from Ennix and an envelope as shown. Other people have tried to tell me it's just the map that came with the game but it doesn't look like it.

I currently have this on Ebay but I don't wanna pass it off as rare if I'm wrong about it.

That's gotta be the map from the game, since I have one, and it came with the game when I got it.

What does the letter say?

The letter says, in part:

"Descendants of Erdrick:

Once you've completed your Dragon Warrior journey, we hope you will continue your adventures by purchasing Dragon Warrior II. We at Enix, the creators of the Dragon Warrior series, present this Labrynth Map and MOnster & Item Guide to you as a free bonus."

The middle and last paragraph talks about the storyline.

"We wish you luck in your fight against evil.

May Good Fortune Be Yours,

Enix America Corporation"

Any ideas? If you look at other ebay auctions offering a complete DWII set, the maps they show look different.

Could it be part of the promo when Nintendo gave away Dragon Warrior as part of a magazine signup (or some such thing) ? I vaguely remember that poster...

I got my copy of Dragon Warrior II from that Nintendo Power deal. I have that poster still to this day somewhere. I don't think it's exactly all that rare. I remember a lot of friends getting DWII through that same deal back in the day.

i got that same map with the letter and envolope when i subscribed to nintendo power during the dragon warrior game give away.i also got an explorers hand book,2 dragon warrior maps,and a level up chart showing what spells and ex points you get when you level up
