It has finally happened. With my recent acquisition of Ironclad / Chotetsu Brikinger, I finally completed my Neo Geo CD collection. According to the price guides, there are 100 CD games: 96 regular games and 4 special editions (Art of Fighting 3 Box Edition, KOF 96 Collection, KOF 98 w/99 calendar, and KOF 98 Special Box Edition). I now own all 100 games, plus Last Hope NGCD, and a Neo Geo CD carrying case. In addition, I also have two boxed top-loading CD's, a boxed front-loader, and a boxed CDZ.

It took me 7 months and only $2167.44. According to the prices guides (which are outdated), the 100 CD's alone are worth between $3270 (low) and $4970 (high), so I think it is a pretty good investment.

Plus, as an added bonus, the above collection is just the Japanese versions of the games. I also have 29 US/English versions of games, and my next goal is to complete a collection of all English versions of games.

Nice! I'm only about 10 or so away from my complete collection as well, none of them super rare or expensive (got my Brikinger two years ago, and found my Zintrick a few weeks ago).

I'm delayed a bit since I am only getting games with the obi. Must get around to finishing soon!

Nice collection, though -- looks great!

Damn....that is good. Ever think of using on of the machienes to create a neo geo arcade machiene?

extremely impressive!

this is more impressive to me than any of the Famicom or PC-Engine collections I've seen, because Neo Geo CD brings with it, arcade quality gaming at home, and for a reasonable price with CDs instead of carts.

congrats on having such an awesome collection.

Kudos Bibliophile. That is an awesome collection - I'm pretty envious right now. I don't have that kind of money to spend in such a short span of time, but even if I did I doubt I could have completed a Neo CD collection in just seven months. What's your favorite out of the 100?

Very nice, I don't recall ever having seen the NGCD carrying case. Is that official SNK?

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean connecting a Neo Geo CD up to a cab? I am not sure why anyone would want to, when most Neo Geo CD games are available on MVS.

Awesome job on completing it in a short time period! :hail:

I haven't even played half of them yet. Some of them are still sealed. And even if they weren't, I work full time and go to school full time (grad school at that), so I don't have much time for gaming these days. But it would probably be a shooter like Metal Slug or Viewpoint. I'm not a big fan of most SNK fighters.

Not that I was asked ;) :

My two faves are Brikinger and Neo Drift Out. It sucks that Brikinger is so expensive and difficult to find coz it's a great game. And Neo Drift Out is just the prefect little arcade racer...

I got them on either ebay or the Neo-geo.com forums.

You made it look easy! :) That is a truly impressive achievement dude, hats off for such a wonderful collection! Now, I am tempted to sell the AES and jump into the NGCD wagon.

Wait till you try the NGCD versions of Last Blade 1/2. That'll change you mind right back. I'm pretty patient, but those loading times are excruciating!

Very nice collection, Adol. However, I was under the impression that the KOF 95 Collection was just a set of art, and that no game was actually included. Is there a CD included in there?
