I'm really really hoping that they make this a reality. After seeing how the PS3 and PSP can handle software with custom soundtracks (notably the excellent rhythm game Beats - available exclusively on the PSN for play on the PSP) this just seems like a no-brainier.

I imported a PS1 copy from Japan YEARS ago, and still occasionally have fun with it at parties.

It's a great, half under-rated, half over-looked, never-imported rhythm game from the creators of Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy, that deserves as much of a second chance as the upcoming Rez on XBLA.

Please Sony, make this one happen for those who loved it, and those who have yet to play it!

I bought a used imported copy on Ebay 3 years ago and could not play it due to my modified PS1 classic finally dying on me (lucky me:mad:). Anyway, I have this sitting around my house and I can't wait to play it. I never really wanted to buy another modded PS1, so I guess this will be my best chance to play this game.

You can probably pick up a good condition PS1 for around $20, and a "swap disc" for about $10.

If I had an extra I'd trade you for something, sadly I don't.

It is a very fun little game, I do wish it had more in game tracks though too. I like the ability to load anything into it, but then again, I'd like to play through more than the like 3 songs actually in the game itself.

Will imports work on fully backwards compatible PS3's?

If so, I'd rather buy the physical game, just for bragging rights.

To me, Vib Ribbon alwyas looked like a Vectrex game, on acid. It has always fascinated me...

I've been hoping to pick this one up for awhile but I never really think to look for it.

PS3's are only region free in the case of PS3 software.

PS2 and PS1 games from other regions do not play.

I tried my copy of Vib Ribbon day the first day that I had my PS3. No dice.

If they could update this to HD and allow you to run songs from your hard drive this would be completely awesome!

Yes exactly. Whether its the old PSone version or a new PSN edition, it should have the ability to play music from both the harddrive and your media servers.

I had the luxory of playing Vib Ribbon at an anime con a couple years ago, even for a short while it was addicting. It it comes to the PSN network I will be exstatic!

BTW - I've been hearing this is only coming to the Euro PSN store. And probably still won't hit American stores.

No one has mentioned that yet. But I still hope it does.

That would be unbelievably depressing - I don't see what the issue would be putting it on both.

VIB is a great game, I have the PAL version.

Well, the GFX have to be simple, it loads the entire game into memory when it switches discs.

Man, I always wanted to get this game. I remember reading about it years ago. Why Sony hasn't ported this to the PSP or the Playstation Network before now is beyond me, but I sure hope that they eventually do. Perhaps they think that the graphics will turn off gamers of today? Oh well at least its getting some attention, and maybe a Euro release hopefully.

Has anyone played its sequel Vib Ripple? Was it anything like the original?

I wonder how this would work if I dumped it to my psp... I doubt I could add any extra songs.
