Whats the deal with the beige Atari joystick that is look exactly like the black Atari 2600 Joystick? Was it packaged with a system or sold seperately?

It was never sold separately, it was packaged with the XE Gaming System along with a same color light gun.

I was thinking that it was for the XE, but the Digital Press Guide says nothing about it.

I just took a gander at a picture of it. Odd that the stick boot is black, not molded in beige as well. Oh well.

Didn't Commodore have a similar joystick? I seem to remember a joystick for the VIC20 that looked just like the Atari stick but had a beige base that matched the VIC20 casing.

One thing to add that might help. It does have the Atari logo on the connector pin casing like the other joysticks. PM if you would like a picture.

This is correct. There was a Vic-20 commodore made joystick that was an exact replica of the Atari 2600 original stick, but white in color instead of black (just the base that is)...the stick itself was still black and the button red/orange...

Misc controllers I have lying around..These all work on the Atari 2600..The white one in the center I got with an Atari XE.
