I was just wondering after I saw the XBL/PSN/Wii Friend code topics, if many people on DP have Steam accounts. If anyone does, my Steam ID is shadow77110 . I mostly play Counter-Strike (1.6, I do have Source and play it rarely) and Day of Defeat (1.3, don't have Source). TIA

I don't play many multiplayer games generally, but you could always add me if you wanted to shoot the shit while I play Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword. :) Steam name is the same as my forum name....big surprise.

Heh, the only thing I play on Steam is HL2: Deathmatch and that was because it was free. Still a pretty good time waster, even though I haven't touched it in a while now. Username = forum handle.

I never bothered with Steam before, but there's this pretty nifty promotion (http://www.steampowered.com/nvidia/) going on right now for NVidia users: 10 levels of Portal, Peggle Extreme, and HL2: Deathmatch. Seems pretty shiny.
EDIT: Bah, Peggle Extreme is the demo version. Curse you, misleading marketing!

Yeah, I'm on it. Handle is "Killer Rabbit". I play CS:S and TF2 mostly, although I could be convinced to play a game of HL2 Deathmatch. I don't have Day of Defeat: Source, either.

Maybe we could make a DP Steam Community group. I was thinking this when typing the first post but didn't expect so many people to reply.
EDIT: Thanks to Jorpho, I didn't know about that promo. I can finally play a bit of Portal again (already finished the 360 version when I rented it)

I sure am tempted by $4.95 for Gish.
There are lots of fans of X-COM: Terror from the Deep and Arx Fatalis, too, both of which you're highly unlikely to find anywhere else these days. (Psychonauts for $20 might be a bit steep, though.)

I bit the bullet on Vampire: Redemption for $10 during their holiday sale, but I haven't gotten around to playing it much yet. Just patched it up with the latest fan patch and went right back to playing other stuff. :(
It doesn't help that whenever I feel inclined to play a PC game, I wind up just reaching for Civ IV. Sure, I suck at Beyond the Sword, but god damn is it fun as balls.

I sent out invites to a DP Steam group to most people in this topic but some people I couldn't find when I searched the Steam Community page, if you haven't got an invite just search for 'Digital Press' (well, obviously) and join (it is a public group)

Sorry to bump this topic, but I just joined the group. I figured since the new TF2 update was released people would be interested in getting some of the new medic achievements. I really want some of the new weapons for sure, and Gold Rush is a blast to play.

Steam: SolC
I enjoy some HL2:Deathmatch for sure. I still prefer original Team Fortress to the new one honestly, but when it all comes down to it i'll probably be playing UT3 on ps3.
I could always fire up Steam if need be, no telling what i'm playing though, best to be reached by xfire: solcu77er.

Gee, achievements are available on Steam now?
I sort of wish I had bought The Orange Box for $30 at Best Buy a few weeks ago, considering that Portal is probably going to be selling in-store for $20 for some time to come.
Is there a good website out there for keeping track of the deals that appear on Steam? (Keeping an eye on CheepAssGamer is kind of pointless for me since so much of what appears there never applies to Canada.)

Canada and the US (Mexico, too!) share the same prices. So any Steam store deals you find at CAG will apply to you.
I heard Gamestop also had Orange Box for PC for $30, but I don't know if that applies to Canadian stores too.

I'm always online, have been since Team Fortress 2 was released & I play it all the time. I love it! I play in a clan & with alot of friends I've met, I tend to stick on the UK/Euro servers...

I used to play the Natural Selection Half Life mod. That was such an amazing multiplayer game - really, truly awesome. I really have to get back and play that sometime. It was a lot of fun. I usually got dumped on alien because I went with random team and most people piled on the marines...so it was bitebitebite and stomp and breathe gas - I really liked playing a lerk and gassing everyone; that was the stuff.

I really want to play TF2, but it's not a newbie-friendly game.

But of course. It's just that filtering out all the non-Steam stuff at CAG is too much work. :p
