Buy an arcade cabinet with xbox MAME?

Is there anywhere to buy a complete cabinet (monitor, controls... cabinet) somewhere that all you need to do is hook up an xbox with mame... like maybe the monitor supports a/v plug ins so all you have to do is hook the xbox in?

I'd like an arcade machine running MAME, but there is no way I could build one meself.

So is there an easy "plug and play" type cabs that already has the controls mapped for the xbox etc etc.?

There are MAME cabinets on ebay and various sites on the web. I've never seen one labeled 'Xbox Ready'. Most are equipped with PC's or ready for PC's, but I suppose the PC could be swapped for the PC in many of them (depending how it's hooked up of course).

You can find pre-made cabinets on CL and eBay, but be expected to pay premium price. Also most people want you to be able to pick them up as they usually need truck shipped and that is lots of money compared to UPS, USPS, and Fed EX. Another disadvantage is that if the cabinet is not seated right around the display, the display can end up damaged.

I have built both a table and standing cabinet and it was not that hard. I did not write any instructions but you can find a lot of instructions online. If you want and are interested in trying your hand at building I can send some links on here.

Just as a point of reference i did a Google search for Mame cabinets for sale and I found one for arcade shopper and the price of the cabinets alone started around $2795.

Uwe, Hong Kong, eh, I don't know I'd trust that thing. But technically should do what this fellow is asking for. I'm not sure why you'd want to play the XBox on a screen likely smaller than your television?

Well there is a guy close to me that has this for sale (currently $10 on ebay) and he says he's about to strip a bunch more old arcades and he'll get back to me on pricing etc.

Would this be able to be converted to an xbox or pc (I'm really strapped for cash and can't afford the expensive $1,000+ mame machines I see going on the internet) Arcmame machine (trademark pending on that name)?

Here is the cheapest way... and I am speaking from experience.

Take an old kitchen cabinet (countertop style). They are the perfect height and width and hopefully you know someone renovating a kitchen.
Optional: Cut out and nail 2 sides to it to make it look like an arcade cabinet. (price depends on the type of wood). Don't install a top or back unless you have some type of heat exhaust fan. Buy an X-Arcade control panel with Xbox adapter (best value). Use an old TV for monitor, these are abundant these days with everyone switching to HD. Built-in stereo speakers is a big plus! Build a small wooden base for the monitor so it is higher than the controls. Wire it all up!

There you have a nice Mame arcade setup cheap!

Or you can go this route (http://www.ugiansky.com/trashcade/), it's pretty close to what was just described. Or look on craigslist or eBay for dead / gutted arcade cabinets local to you and pick one up for a few bucks. Most of the time you'll find people want them gone and out of the way. I bought a complete but dead Pole Position for $50.00, sold the nonworking boards for $20.00 on eBay, gutted the rest of the internals (were all shot) and converted it to run MAME.

An empty cabinet can easily accommodate a standard TV and XBox, it's a good starting point. That guy local to you that you mentioned may be your best connection, ask him for an empty cabinet.

I have a 25" Midway JAMMA cabinet with an Xbox in it, it was actually quite a bit of work. It's really neat though, just fire up the Xbox and go.
