Hi,
While cataloging my game collection I noticed that the Listing for Karnov has the wrong publisher.
http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=5610
That shouldn't say LJN for the publisher. It's Data East.

When I was a kid I had some cash to blow so I decided to pick up an NES game at Toys R Us. I didnt know what was out there so I was reading the descriptions on the panels. I picked up Karnov and it sounded pretty cool, a big guy that looked like my dad that could breathe FIRE.
At that time, Toys R Us had you pull a tag off a hook for the game you wanted, you then went to the "game cage" and gave the paper to the clerk, the clerk would get the game from the back room and bring it to you. This time, when the clerk came back she handed me the game, and a free magazine. That magazine was the first issue of GamePro.
I still have it.
Yes, I did like the game, it was frustrating at first, but it was fun. The end made me want to murder though.

Not to jump off topic but you just brought back memories Xian lol. I remember the game tickets, there used to be another toy store called Child World which used the same system - which was kind of crappy for seeing what the game was totally about but I remember the distinct feeling of walking up to the cage and handing in my ticket - awaiting excitedly for the game!
On another note...Karnov...one of the few NES games I thought was annoying yet enjoyable at the same time - I got this from my grandmother on my 6th birthday - It was the first and last time I got an NES game for my bday :P
