It's a fake (http://kotaku.com/344783/new-duck-hunt-for-the-wii-no), and I didn't believe it as soon as I heard the kid say "My dad works for Hudson and I found this in his desk." Yeah, ok.

Duck Hunt does seem like a simple thing to do for the Wii in some capacity though so I wouldn't doubt seeing it on the VC in the future.

They don't know it's a fake for sure, they just know it's different than what they saw at E3. I am not stating its validity either way, but sure is interesting!

The kid seems too old to be dumb enough to loose Daddy's job.

That video looks like a fake to me, but I'm sure we'll see some form of Duck Hunt on the Wii. It's one of those titles (like Super Mario Bros) that will sell by the bucketload on the VC just on the name alone.

Anyone get the feeling that when Duck Hunt does come out for VC, that it will be more than 500 points? I'm guessing at least double that. The time and money it will take to incorporate in the Wiimote almost guarantees this game will be pricey. IMO 500 points is too much for a NES game as it is.

Duck Hunt is overrated anyway. Really, how long can this game keep your attention? 10 minutes? 30 minutes?

I don't think it will be VC, I think it will be a Wii Ware title. Definitely more than 500 points.

i couldnt imagine it being especially hard to use the wiimote for this infact this would probably be one of the simplest games to knockout for this system.

They should make a new duck hunt game, but I can think of more then a few games I'd like to see resurrected ahead of duckhunt.

Shooting Gallery on Wii Play was a tease at how easy it would be for Nintendo to make a new Duck Hunt game for Wii.

It takes place in the same damned play-field as Duck Hunt, and features the ducks and the skeets!!

My guess is that we're going to see a brick and mortar new-graphics multi-game version of Duck Hunt / Hogan's Alley / something else (Gumshoe would be nice!) at retail at some point.

I really liked Shooting Gallary on Wii Play. I'd be geeked if they just expanded on that idea for a new Duck Hunt game.. I also second, I'd love to see new versions of say Wild Gunman, Gumshoe, and Hogan's Alley.

ever since the e3 2006 duck hunt footage i have wanted duck hunt on the wii. i thought for sure the game everyone wanted for the zapper wasnt fucking link's cross bow training (its not bad but i would probably play the shit out of duck hunt).

All they'd have to do is emulate light gun technology by placing on screen crosshairs that you use to aim with, like Taito did with the light gun games in Taito Legends. They wouldn't have to touch Duck Hunt, just a little work with their emulator.

So he took it from his dads desk and put it all over the internet without caring that his father will probably lose his job. Hope my son doesnt end up as stupid as this kid. I smell fake.

i didnt even think of that one. Im going to have to say id gladly let them leave duckhunt on the back-burner if it meant there would be a new hogans alley.

Duck Hunt stunk. Wild Gunman and Hogan's Alley were much better to play.

Did you not have a NES in 87/88?

Not only did we play duck hunt for hours, but we played two-player, with one person controlling the duck!

Yeah, we had the Duck Hunt/SMB dual NES cart back then. I never played Duck Hunt beyond the first few days of getting the NES. It was too repetitive. To each their own I guess.

If you only play Duck Hunt for 10/30 minutes at a time, how does that make it a bad game? Some games are meant to just be picked up for a few minutes of fun without a large investment of time. I never played it for hours at a time, but I did keep coming back to it.

Anyway, I agree with Kotaku that this isn't worth paying attention to. The "Duck Hunt 2" demo ended up just being a mini-game in Wii-Play, and even in its unspectacular packaging, it looked tons better than this stupid video we just saw. There's no way that dumb video is going to be a full-fledged game.

Duck Hunt was *ok* but, given a choice between the two, I preferred Safari Hunt for the SMS. It had a little more variety.

Duck Hunt stunk. Wild Gunman and Hogan's Alley were much better to play.

Hogan's Alley was pretty good, but Wild Gunman was far too easy and simple, according to my memory.

I enjoyed Duck Hunt and was the only child on my block to get past the first few levels without pressing the Zapper against the TV screen. I actually sat across the room and aimed properly. One duck mode, two duck mode, clay pigeon shooting...they were all fun.

Man, I love Duck Hunt. I really hope that a sequel finally gets made. But, if they do, they have to use the same sound effects like in this video. The dog also has to be there, and NOT shootable :p
