It varies on the person really. To show off its fine, collectors have their own tastes. It's what you make of it what makes it worth something to you. One other thing watch out for posting on your thread on the same day. They don't like when you bump it by yourself.

I sold a Complete Hong Kong version of Punchout for $50 AUD the other day. It sold real quick too.

um.... ok. Not to sound like a jerk but what in the world are you trying to say. I don't consider an Asian version of punch out showing off. Thanks I guess, are you saying that theres only a few collectors that interested in asian version stuff. OH and by the way thanks --Nintendo-- 50$ bucks for a complete HKV that can't be too bad either way. Do you know how often hong kong or asian versions come up?

I've been on cold medicine so late night thoughts have been random. What I was trying to say it is hard to figure out what asian games are worth. It varies on person to person on what it should the price. I don't know how often they come up. Sorry if I was confusing.

Idk, I don't have many but maybe. Feel free to make an offer not sure what all i have anymore. I'll try and post a list on here. By the way coreys429 thats cool and I know what your saying now. No one seems to really know a lot about these from what I have found and there doesn't seem to be a huge demand.

I collect the Japanese famicom versions of my favorite nes games. Ebay has lots of these but you tend to see the same titles after a while. I now have the US nes and Japanese famicom versions of:

Contra
Super Contra
Ninja Gaiden
Ninja gaiden 2
Bad Dudes
Teenage Mutant Ninja Tutrles
Life Force/Salamander
Excitebike

and a few others. I wouldn't mind adding Mike Tyson's Punch-Out to my collection:-D.

It's not a famicom game its an asian version Mike tyson and yes there is a difference. Asian versions look like standard US games besides the cart is a light grey and it says asian version.

Nope. Actually, I probably have way too many considering I have yet to play them all*_*

I have the Asian version of Pinball. Exactly the same but lighter grey cart, not a bootleg. Worth $5-10 I'd say... not that uncommon to find them.

Asian version NES games won't play on a U.S. NES anyway, unless you disable the lockout.

I'm sure atleast some of them would play with an import converter.

Mine plays fine on my NES, but I have the toploader... is that why?

I'm sure atleast some of them would play with an import converter.Famicom/NES converters are used to overcome the 60/72 pin difference between the systems. NES Asian version carts have the same pinout as American NES versions (72 pin)...converters have nothing to do with it.

Mine plays fine on my NES, but I have the toploader... is that why?Perhaps...all I know is, my Kid Icarus Asian version absolutely will not play on my NES toaster.

As stated on the back of the box it will only play on a Hong Kong NES (light grey color, I got one so I might take a picture later) Toploaders don't have region lockout so it will play just fine.

I have a toploader but it'c the newer version that came out a few years ago. It should work ok for the asian versions.

Asian version games have recently been confirmed to be PAL and not NTSC, so it will play in a US toploader or a toaster with a disabled lock-out chip. As for price, I'd definitely put it higher than the $5-10 range, they fly under the radar on EBay often enough though so you'd probably be better suited to sell on the forums. I'd say $15-$20 would be a better estimate as more and more NES collectors are getting into the Hong Kong and Asian releases. People like the art and the cart colors (light gray on most, white for Wild Gunman).

Ok thanks, I'm thinking I'll keep it for a while longer more or less as a Import for my small nes collection. I hope to hit 300 different carts this summer that should bring me up to a good medium sized nes collection I think. That's including label variations so I only need like 70 more to meet that goal.
