This is the most impressive fanmade Mario game I've ever seen. And it even appears to be well beyond the planning stages!

It would seem that this is not an SMW hack, but something apparently made entirely with something called The Games Factory 7.

Looks neat. I'd probably play it, providing gamepad support was present.

So how do you get it? Looks fun :)

Yes, I rather wish there was more information available. Hopefully it won't end up being one of those cool-looking things that surfaces from nowhere and then vanishes mysteriously forever.

There's a link to he "0.0.0.1 beta" from the GameTrailers page (though really, it looks to have advanced to a much more playable state than such a version number would suggest).

Yeah, it's too bad the creator of that 2D Ocarina of Time died in a car crash. That was a very neat project.

And whatever happened to Grand Theftendo? O_o

Indeed, BriPro.com is now in its second year of stagnation.

This game actually came up in a thread at the romhacking.net forums regarding Super Mario Twilight DX, which came out a few years ago but looks pretty impressive nonetheless.

I've also heard very nice things about something called Mario Forever (by "Buziol"). As for something that I've actually played, I can highly recommend the slightly incongruously-named Castlevania-Mario mashup that is Super Mario XP. Both of these are available at Home of the Underdogs, though they seem to be widely disseminated via free game sites throughout the Internet.

Yeah, it's too bad the creator of that 2D Ocarina of Time died in a car crash. That was a very neat project.

There were two different projects to do OoT in 2D. One was by an Australian kid who was doing it in one of those generic game engines. It didn't look terribly good and he attempted to fake his own death by having a friend post online that he got mowed down by a car while on a walk with his girlfriend. He later admitted that he had lied and that he just couldn't handle the pressure or workload of trying to create OoT in 2D. I believe there was a demo available and that it sucked.

The other project (http://www.siliconera.com/2006/12/28/fan-made-2d-ocarina-of-time-in-the-works/) was by TheRealMethuselah, who also had started a bit of work on the concept of getting Majora's Mask in 2D. I don't believe there's been any update in the last year or so on either project. His OoT remake is the one that looked incredibly cool and that everyone was excited for. No idea what's up with him, but being in the Army, I'm sure he spends a lot of his free time learning how to identify IEDs. Assuming he hasn't eaten an IED sandwich yet. No idea.

edit - looks like there's news here if you register (http://www.zfgc.com/)

Been following this much? Apparently there was a new beta back in November.

(And it's also called "Mushroom Kingdom Fusion" now.)
