displaying games? what are some good shelves?

Has there been a post where people take pics of their game collection / how it's displayed?

Are there any good game shelves people can recommend?

I need a shelf for my SNES games, GBA, PS2, PSP, PS3 and game guides. The only thing is they're all different sizes so I'm not sure how to organize them so they look good on the shelves.

How do you guys do it?

This is the ultimate in video game shelves. This is also the cheapest I've seen on the net. I"ve got my second comming already. It fits DVD cases such as Xbox/PS2/Gamecube, Sega CD/Saturn, PS1/Dreamcast, and even better, NES perfectly. I know it may sound pricey at first, but for me, it is perfect. Customize it as you wish.

I use Lozier shelving, the same stuff that they use in retail stores. Although that might sound strange at first they are perfect for holding gaming items.

Pros:
1) Every self is adjustable in height, so you can have just the perfect fit for each type of game.
2) They are indestructible and can hold several hundreds of pounds of weight per a self.
3) You can get different types and sizes of shelving for every possible combination of game storage.
4) Plus they have a pegboard backing to them so you can hang controllers or other types of accessories on peg hooks.
5) Lastly they hold their value. You can use them for ten year and resell them for practically all of your original money back when you’re done with them. Assuming you bought them used.

Cons:
1) They are industrial shelving so they lack esthetic qualities
2) They have a higher initial cost of investment than regular shelves, though you can find bargains on Craigslist from time to time.
3) Setting them up for the first time is confusing, but after the first one it is really easy.

Back when I had a large enough collection to warrant it I bought those big tupperware drawer stackable things. Only the games in front were visible So I would put cool titles up front but it mainly kept them protected from dust and stuff.

Shelves are cool to display I guess but gotta dust alot.

I just buy cheap stuff from big lots furniture stores lol...although, this guy at the local flea market is selling those awesome Nintendo shelving units like you used to see in toy stores back in the day. Yes those ones, the red ones with nintendo characters on the sides and the light up nintendo logo in front, with sliding glass doors...this guy has 2 of them in mint condition. I go to the flea once a month trying to buy them but he just won't part with them...ONE DAY!!! ::shakes fist:: they will be mine!

One of them holds my PS2/Xbox collection (about 250 games) and the other has all my PS1 + GC games. Pretty easy to find in most stores and I paid $40 each on sale.

Agreed on the Billy shelves. I used to use cheap Target shelves but I've switched over to Ikea and I love the new ones.

boxes, several of which are in my attic. I hate displaying collections of any kind (music, movies, etc) I guess I'm kind of a minimalist.

My friend and I caught a local Movie Gallery going out of business. We scored much of their shelving. At first, they were $45. As time went along, they got cheaper and cheaper. By the end, we were getting 3 for $45. They each hold about 800-900 DVD'S/Games. Once you get them up and filled, they are beautiful to look at, especially if you like seeing just a huge quantity of games all together.
I know that does you no good now, but you definitely should always be on the lookout for store closings.

If you look at the other products made by the same company, they make much bigger shelves (and more expensive). Some of them are seriously nice, there's an electronics store across town that sells them. They're huge, and fully adjustable. I just wish they didn't cost $300.
