First, hope this is not taboo or in the wrong section, if so apolagees and please move or delete as necessary................
OK, I have an R4 card for my NDS and I was wondering, what are everyones favorite Emulators for it? Been playing with lameboy which seems pretty good, I would not expect to emulate systems which are too powerful..........
Do you have a favorite emulator? Looking for something with fun games that works well, let me know, thanks!

nesDS is probably the best emulator on the DS in terms of compatibility and features. It's very solid, though I think it could still use a number of improvements here and there, though it seems like development has more or less ceased on it.
SNEmulDS is riddled with problems, but plays enough SNES games wellk enough to be a highly recommended emulator as well. Just don't expect it to play everything you throw at it...or to play anything perfectly, though a couple games are near enough to that. Surprisingly, speed is rarely a problem, but there's some differences in the way the SNES and DS games handle backgrounds and sprites that causes a lot of layering problems.
SCUMMVMDS isn't actually an emulator, but if you like Lucas Arts and Sierra adventure games, definitely give it a try.
Those and Lameboy are the best emulators on the DS that I've used. There's a bunch more like jEnesisDS, StellaDS, DSMasterPlus, RACE!DS, MarcaDS and ColecoDS that are more or less playable, but not really polished enough, in my opinion.
There's an emulator called Mini vMac DS, which actually emulates old Macs and is apparently pretty usable, though I haven't tried it myself. It's something I really want to check out, though, because it sounds so cool. It actually runs MacOS 7.

Is anyone still developing new emulators for the DS or is the scene pretty much dead? I just downloaded a few this week (NES and a few others) and most haven't been updated in the past 1-2 years.

Most homebrew on the DS is in the form of original games or apps. There doesn't seem to be as much interest in emulators as there is in other homebrew scenes. Probably because, for the most part, the PSP and GP2X are simply better handheld platforms for emulation and the uniqe features of the DS lend themselves more to original content than they do emulation.
That said, the most recent versions of nesDS, SNEmulDS and Lameboy at least are all from within the last 6 months, so it may be that you just downloaded old versions. The newest versions of SCUMMVMDS, Mini vMac DS and Goomba Color (whic is actually for the GBA, but it works on a DS of course and there's actually a DS port in the works) all came out last week.
I'm disappointed that there hasn't been any progress on the Coleco and SMS emulators, though. Those are quite old and they're far from perfect even though they certainly could be given the DS's capabilities. A Coleco emu on the DS would be great what with the touchscreen and also the DS's screen resolution matches the Coleco's resolution perfectly. StellaDS could also really use an update.

Just got into the Nintendo DS (as of this Christmas), and I'm loving it. My question is... are there emulators for Mega Drive and Neo:Geo? Probably not, but it never hurts to ask, and I'm sure someone here at Digital Press would know.

jEnesisDS is the only GEN/MD one I know of. It works alright but the screen is clipped on the ends and that can make a few games a little difficult. Oh, and it lacks sound emulation. You're going to need to DLDI patch the emu for your flashcart to run the roms unlike some emu's where you build the games you want to play into the emu itself.
Nothing NeoGeo that I'm aware of. I have heard about a version of MAME for DS, but I think it only runs the Z80 games. So that leaves Neo Geo out until they can do twin 68k's also.
