I've posted a guide to help players improve at Street Fighter 3 Third Strike. It has video tutorials on how to do some very nifty tricks, like Negative Edge and Super Canceling.

I'm looking for feedback on what's there and how I can improve it. Also on suggestions on what I should add in the future.

I'm hoping to make this a very robust and detailed guide that's a great resource for SF3 players around the globe.

If you have any suggestions at all, feel free to email them to me (jberlinghoff@eventhubs.com) or simply post it on this thread.

Have you checked the Shoryuken.com wiki? There may be info there that you missed...or info you could add!

Nice guide catalyst, and welcome to the forums. I really enjoy Third Strike but don't have the time or reflexes to get good enough to incorporate a lot of these techniques. Do you play competitively?

Thanks for the kind words.

I play on XBox Live quite a bit still. There's some terrific players online, although the lag is sometimes difficult to get used to.

But the competition there and the speed at which you can get into a game is great.

SF3 always seemed like a great game, but I could never get the hang of parrying... I always seemed to screw it up one way or another, making the game a hell of a lot harder, as the AI got really good at it.

It's funny, a lot of people mentioned this about 3rd Strike's women, and are kind of curious if they'll look the same — or even bigger — for Street Fighter 4.

I don't think making the women huge is the right way to go if they're going to try to sell a game to masses, sex appeal and all, but it will be interesting to see how the newest game turns out in that regard.

Will we see Marion Jones as a secret character in Street Fighter IV?

Parrying is always just a matter of predicting , they are actually pretty easy to pull off especially considering that there are only to kinds of parrys to perform.

Those pants aren't her legs, you know. They're just baggy :P Her one winpose where she's in street clothes shows that she's pretty much normal looking!

Oh, man. This is getting bookmarked post-haste, if not only because I DESPERATELY need help with parrying. Excellent premise, man! \m/

Many thanks for the positive feedback. It's nice to know that people out there really like this stuff.

I've added in a Makoto guide (http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/jan/05/makoto-street-fighter-3-third-strike-character-guide/) and a few new sections since I last posted.

I'm still working on adding in more content as well.

I've completed the Ryu Character Guide for Street Fighter Third Strike.

http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/may/09/ryu-street-fighter-3-third-strike-character-guide/

This guide has videos and instructions just like the other character guides I've posted. It should make learning Ryu an easier task.

Let me know what you think.
