I have a question about Parasite Eve for the PS1. The case states that the games is 3 disks. Does this include the demo disk? The copy I bought didn't have a manual and only had 2 disks, and I wanted to make sure that I at least had the whole game.

Yes, only 2 discs for the game.

If there was ever a demo packed in, I can't for the life of me remember what it was, but the game is only 2 discs long.

If I recall correctly, the demo disc had a few different games on it. FF8, Brave Fencer Mushashi and one other one (Xenogears?)

Squaresoft 1998 Collector's CD Volume 1. Contains videos of Brave Fencer Musashi, Bushido Blade 2, Final Fantasy VIII and the first playable demo of Xenogears.

Amazingly every copy I've ever come across used at a retail store has had all three discs, even if missing the original case. My copy is from a GameStop that was 100% complete, both myself and the clerk were surprised it had all three discs. I've also had a few discs + booklet copies from GameCrazy that were only missing the case as well.

As for Parasite Eve, excellent underrated game.

As for Parasite Eve, excellent underrated game.

I've felt it needed a sequel past part II. However, I feel square abandoned it like many of their psx rpgs. Like Vagrant Story and Threads of Fate, I always hoped for sequels.

As for the Demo Disc, I haven't seen a complete one in a long time. Then again, its also the area I live in.

There's been news of a sequel in development named The 3rd Birthday, but it's going to be released for the cell phone and not console based.

Thanks for the help. I didn't want to invest a ton of time in the game only to see a message that said to switch to disk 3 when I only have 2 disks.

As for Parasite Eve, excellent underrated game.

I had fun with it, but the difficulty on it was way too low (beat it without dying on my first playthrough) and the writing was remarkably bland and uninspired (especially when paired up with the sleep-inducing music). At least it's fairly inexpensive these days, which compensates for the short length and relative ease.

Yeah, if I beat the game quickly, it must have been too easy!
I loved the story though. And PE2 was much harder as I remember. I was big into the RE series which came out around the same time and I loved both. I was never a big FF fan and never even owned any games on that demo disk. I too bought PE used shortly after it released. It was complete and in perfect shape. Someone probably beat it quick and recovered as much value as possible. In my top 5 PS1 games of all time! A great classic!

Remember though, completing the EX game is how you come to the true ending. I beat the regular game the first time through without dying as well, which I thought made sense in how the game was written and presented. The damn Chrysler Building in the EX game though, that got me a few times.

I think Parasite eve is the only game I remember that has Giant Roaches for a boss. There up in the Chrysler building. I wasn't able to beat the top of the tower without cheating though.

Breath of Fire 3 has you fighting giant roaches... but I don't think they're ever a boss. :Þ

the "true ending" is a load of poo and not worth the effort of getting unless you really, really like the gameplay. I am happy they had additional content to go back to after beating the game, though.
