Anyone else digging this?

I've only given it a brief shot, but I can tell already that the series is continuing strong with this outing.

While I don't really have time to play it, I'm still picking this up ASAP. Advance Wars games don't last long at retail and I'm not paying $50+ for this on ebay 6 months from now.

The "darker" tone of the game suits me just fine. The first Advance Wars game on the DS was probably the best transition from GBA to DS yet. The touch screen was perfectly utilized. This one should be just as good.

Half of the videogame-related commercials I've seen in the past week have been for Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Nintendo seems to be really pushing it, so it may take awhile for this game to become hard-to-find at retail.

Of course, you'll probably find 'rare oop' postings for it on Ebay within the next month or two. :)

Love it, want it. Gonna buy it and beat it. Then it's off to online matches.

IMO all the changes I've seen thus far are all for the better and Wars always has been an awesome series so that's saying something. :D

um no. Advance wars games last for about a year on retail after which they are clearanced for 5-10$ in all retail outlets. then after the used supply runs out, the prices raise. either way its like 1-2 years after release.

I never saw Advance Wars Duel Strike for that cheap and I was looking quite hard. Best I found and payed was $25 at a TRU clearance. Now the GBA releases you could find for ~$10 for a long time, but not Duel Strike. Days of Ruin could be worse because of Duel Strike's high resale rate and the greed of eBay speculators knows no bounds. I expect to see some non-gamer types to be buying 2-5 copies at once. :/

When those games go clearance, 90% of them have already been sold. Maybe a few stragglers popping up on eBay as a result. You'd be hard pressed to find a pile of these tossed in a clearance dump bin at TRU or Circuit.

I sincerely hope that they print a gargantuan run to burn those drains on the hobby for the short term at least (DC Ikaruga anyone?).

Back on topic, I've played a few of the Advance Wars games and I always have the same problem. I get about 10 or so battles in and just lose all interest, just like what happens with RTS games. I'm not sure why, I just have no desire to finish them.

I like the more serious direction they're going with this next outing.

(DC Ikaruga anyone?).

I'm so happy this is going to be released on XBox Live arcade (so I don't have to open my DC copy).

An excellent game so far. It's definitely a must-have for Nintendo DS owners. I think it's a definite improvement over AW: Dual Strike in every way. I'm busily converting my AW2 custom maps right now, and I'm eager to give them away to anyone in sight.

My only complaint about the new Advance Wars is that Nintendo only allows you to up/download 10x10 maps. That's just rediculous, and practically useless. Thankfully, online battles allow for bigger maps.

Should we start sharing AW friends' codes in this thread?
