Those Team ICO guys are up to something....

Today, the developers of the cult PS2 classic, Ico, teased Playstation 3 owners with this screenshot.

I read about this earlier and I can't say that I'm not surprised. ICO was the reason why I wanted a PS2 and SOC, despite the horrible glitches only I seemed to have encountered (falling through the last Colossi being one), was another amazing game.

I'm sure that the next one is going to be even better and I cannot wait until more news surfaces, it's sure to be something special.

ico was a major factor for my getting a ps2 and shadows kicked ass as well. Can't wait for their next project-now I need a ps3!

I'll agree on Ico, which I thought was a beautiful and atmospheric game dragged down to mediocrity by having to fight fucking shadows with a stick. SotC was a fun and original game that I'm glad to have played and am thinking about picking up again very soon.

That said, anyone who gets excited by the above screenshot should be checked into a mental institution. I can understand excitement about the forthcoming game, but that screen sucks.

Awesome news. I really hope that it is something similar to ICO and SotC. Both are truely amazing games. I have been saying for the longest time that there are three factors in me buying a PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3 (hopefully), and a new game from this team.

Since ICO is my favorite game of all time and means alot to me (I still have yet to play a game that has struck me as hard as Ico). I say let them delay it and work on it as much as they need to because in my opinion "Team ICO" has made two of the best games ever created (I would rank Shadow of the Colossus in either my #4 or #5 of all time).

IMO the chain in the screenshot probably has little to do with the game, and its more of a screenshot showing of a rendering of the in-game world using the PS3 technology.

I can never decide if I would like a true sequel to ICO because in my opinion the gaps in the story adds to its mystery and charm. I love the fact that SotC is confirmed to be in the same world as Ico, I am hoping that their new game is unique in its gameplay yet it ties ICO and shadow of the colossus together some more in terms of the universes story.

Either way I want this game.

That's funny considering SotC made greatest hits, so I'm sure team ICO would be happy with those results.
