Ok so I just picked up a NGPC, and I assume its region free, but I never did much research on it.

Are there any personal recommendations on import games? anyone a big collector? and do you find it hard to collect for?

Very easy to collect for. Almost every game is worthwhile, except the usual Shanghai and Pachislot suspects.

I would suggest Ganbare Neo Poke-kun (http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/neopoke/neopoke.htm). Very similar to Warioware with lots of bizarre minigames and such. But you open them up by harassing Poke-kun. No idea what it sells for these days, but it's easily my favorite NGPC import.

Well, I haven't done any importing myself, but I know some notable Japanese exclusives include the aforementioned Ganbare Neo Poke-kun, the Rockman game based on the arcade games, Cotton, Ogre Battle, and the sequel to Bio Motor Unitron.

Thanks for the input, I had no idea Ogre Battle or Cotton made it on, id imagine those are both text intensive though

Cotton? It's a shooter. I doubt it has much of any text at all. But, yeah, Ogre Battle would be. There is a guide on GameFAQs for it, so I imagine it would be worthwhile for a big fan of the series (and, of course, it always helps in text intensive games to already be familiar with the general mechanics of the game by playing other entries in a series).

Awesome. I love the Ogre Battle series so I may look into that, thanks for the feedback Aussie2B

I'll second Ganbare Neo Poke-Kun. Its a collection of 30 mini-games based on gaming history from Pong to King of Fighters. All based around a wierd virtual pet type thing.

Cool Cool Jam - a music game, in the same series as the Dreamcast's Cool Cool Toon

Card Fighters Clash got a sequal in Japan.

Oh, and whats wrong with Shanghai? Its been on my to buy list for ages. Plus, it was released in America as well.

By imports, do you mean Japanese games? Anyway, for Japanese games, everyone has already covered the more popular ones. Besides those, I suggest Delta Warp. It's a neat puzzle game and is rather inexpensive compared to the other games mentioned here.

There are several Japanese games that also got a European release that I will recommend, those are:
Picture Puzzle
Cotton
Dynamite Slugger

Very easy to collect for. Almost every game is worthwhile, except the usual Shanghai and Pachislot suspects.

I actually enjoyed Shanghai Mini quite a bit as I played through it. My only gripe is the need to write down passwords as you play through. Otherwise I thought it was very good.

Super Real Mahjong!!..who doesn't like a little strip mahjong?:wink 2:
Cool Borders (Pal)...pretty fun game. never understood why it didn't come out in the US.

...I've been looking to pick up another copy of Ganbare Neo Poke-Kun since the only copy I have is sealed (other one stop playing)...but I haven't seen any listings on ebay on it for the past few weeks.
