There are so many different DS Lites with crazy colors and whatnot out there, I feel like I'm behind the times still playing my original DS with the plain silver design.

They should do an orange one. Not bad though.

I think they have to make up for using "coral pink" as one of the launch colors.

I like it. I also like the red/black scheme as well. Sadly I got the Zelda DS bundle for Christmas, because of the pack in game. No complaints though

Sexy. Maybe I should buy a third. I have a white lite, and my son uses my original silver. I should give my wife the white one and buy this for myself!

Nintendo should make a translucent DS like they use for Gameboy series.

I'm not sure.. Looks like some of the designers have been watching just a tad too much The Fast and the Furious. The design reminds me a lot of a flashy, brand-spanking new car. Now all it needs is chrome bumpers and blue flourescent lights underneath. I'll stick to my silver phatty any day \\^_^/
Point proven below :wink 2:

Ooh. Same color as my car. I've been looking for an excuse to pick another one up. The Mrs. shall inherit my current one....

I'm still waiting for DIY replacement shells (in colors other than black (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7276)).

Nintendo only launched with a "Polar White" DS lite in the US. Black and pink were 4 months later. Not a big deal...but this is DP afterall.

Are there actually people who collect every color variation of the DS? And how can they afford it?

Maybe that poster was thinking of the launch GBA that was clear-pink?

I like the red/black one the best-very classy. I owned a black ds lite for awhile but currently don;t have one

Nah, that was "Atomic Purple". Purple is manly, right? Especially if it's Atomic!

Indeed.

I like that color. The only problem is that I haven't decided which version of the DS I like better. I thought the original looked a little more tougher than the lite.

Atomic Purple was an N64 thing wasn't it? There are clear pink GBAs.

Are there any other special editions besides the Zelda bundle? IE like GBA had a naruto themed and such.
Atomic Purple ROFL, I don't remember the console being that color but they do have atomic purple controllers, I had 2 of them =O

For the DS Lite there have been a few bundles released here stateside (mounds more in Japan).
Polar (white)
Onyx (black)
Coral (Pink)
Crimson & Black (stand alone system same as Brain Age 2 bundled system)
Zelda Bundle (Gold colored system with the Triforce on the cover)
Nintendogs Bundle (Pink colored system with a Pawprint on the cover)
Brain Age 2 Bundle (Dual colored system Red top,Black bottom)
Pikachu Edition (pokemoncenter.com exclusive, but it was actually selloffs from the Japanese Pokemon Center, Yellow system with Pikachu's head silhouetted on it)
Regular DS had some as well, but I think you were more curious about lite bundles.

I would rather have a DSLite in only Cobalt Blue, instead of the two tone look shown in the picture.
I guess I have time to decide though, since I only have my original silver DS(haven't sprung for a DSL yet).

That Cobalt does indeed look nice. I'd need to see it in real life to see if I prefer it to my Enamel Navy DS lite (which annoyingly, I still believe Nintendo haven't released outside Japan). I'm not too sure about the 2 tone colours either.

Ok I really didn't want to make a new thread for talking a bout the same thing
I am thinking of buying a DSL but I am stuck on wich to buy for rarity. The Crimson/Black(w/ or w/o Brain Age) or Gold Zelda. So which do you think will be more rare? My bet is on the Crimson/Black with Brain Age as a rare box varient.

Pokemon Centre in the US also had a 'Dialga and Pakia' which I believe was also a Japanese sell-off. Oh, and don't forget the Mariners DS Lite, available at Safeco field.
And then there's this, which sadly has jumped out of my price range by more than a few grand:

I forgot about the Digala and Pakia lites. Those were sold in some wickidly expensive bundles on pokemoncenter.com as well. I had eyed them for myself/katchoo but their prices scared me off.
Do you know of the real availability of the Mariners lite? Could you just go to a game and buy them from some of the higher end merch stores in the park or were they some kind of season ticket holder perk? I've seen some pics and maybe two on ebay, but they were a tad bit much for me especially since they arn't a team or the league that I like.
The only thing about the Orcs & Elves lite is that it looks like theres some gameskins on the top and the internal faces, not that its an actual case art. Basically a one of a kind like the jeweled DS's and stuff.

Is the new cobalt blue unit supposedly hard to find? The reason that I ask is that some guy at my company is selling a brand new one for $180 and I was wondering why the premium price. Then again a couple weeks ago, someone else was trying to sell a new white one for $200 since they are "hard to find".
